I was shopping in the home department at a mall today and came across Shu Uemura towels! I'm currently living in Beijing, so you might think that they were fake, but the mall is very upscale, so I'm confident they were genuine. Anyway, I saw them and thought, geez, why pay more for towels just because they have "Shu Uemura" stitched on them?
And then I felt them and they were INCREDIBLY soft. I was reading in another thread how some of you have a dedicated face towel and I thought, if I was going to have a special towel just for my face, this is going to be it!
But then I thought why not post here first to see if any of you have heard of these towels and/or tried them? If so, please let me know! |

Yes, I agree that they are super soft. I've been using Shu's face towels for years and they're probably the softest I've ever come across. |

Do you live in Asia?
So the towels are good quality? They stand up to repeated washings and still stay soft? |

I'm from HK. The towels stay soft after repeated washing and they last longer than cheaper ones. You can get the smallest one to try first. For me it's the perfect size as a face towel. |

Thanks CK! I was thinking about just buying the smallest towel when I saw them yesterday, but I thought it better to ask around here first. So glad I did! Just curious, the smallest size was selling for 72 RMB, which is around 74 HKD, does that sound like a decent price? |

Wow, it's even much more overpriced in Beijing than in Hong Kong. It's sold for around HK$40 here and can be found in Japanese dept stores. |

That's what I figured. Everything, or at least everything that I'm used to using, is SO overpriced here. Which is great, because it prevents me from buying anything, thus helping me save money. But when I do need something, it annoys me to have to spend so much more than what I'm used to!
We're planning on going to Japan in October. I'll hold off until then to see if it's cheaper there. Thanks CK! You saved me some money! |
