I've been inspired by manslayerliz in another thread where she mentions a good hydrating mask. My face is looking dull, congested and just blah these days (winter, holiday-stress). I occasionally use Dr. Hauschaka clay mask, Rejuvenating Mask and Carekate's supersonic mask. I'm looking for something soothing that will hopefully help (Dr. H Rejuvenating Mask doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore). Please no Valmont Renewing Pack; I can't afford it and (thankfully) I had a sample once and wasn't blown away, so I don't think I'm missing out so much here. I'd appreciate your recommendations. TIA.

Fresh Rose hydrating mask is pretty good, you can use it on daily basis, it costs CAD 75 in sephora.
I also use Sisley's flower express gel but it is not cheap, maybe more than 100 bucks.
Or you can try Decleor Hydra Floral "Flower Essence" Moisturizing Mask, my friend loves it! |

Well, if your face has been feeling tight, dry, or flaky, the Beauty Without Cruelty Hydrating Mask I mentioned in that other thread will fix you up in a jiffy! One nice thing is the price, too. It's like 7 or 8 bucks at Whole Foods and drugstore.com. |

Dermologica Multi-Vitamin Recovery Mask. It is a very smoothing mask packed with antioxidents. |

I actually just bought Clarins hydrating mask. I got oily dehydrated skin. I find it to "creamy" for my skin. My skin did not absorb it at all. And it left my skin oilyer then ever. But for someone with dry skin its probably a good choice.I think sensitive skin should stay away because it contain fragrance.Next time I will buy a moisturizing mask in a gel texture.

Yoghurt is wondefully hydrating, I find. When my skin feels thirsty I smooth some on each day, my skin seems to drink it in. |

I have very dry skin. I am using Clarins Hydrating Mask and it's very hydrating. But, that's about it. I think Dr. H rejuvenating mask does more than moisturizing. |

Went to WFs last night but they didn;t have Beauty Without Cruelty. Thanks for the yogurt tip. And it seems that Dermologica Multi-Vitamin Recovery Mask is popular. |

Sorry I sent you all around the mulberry bush for nothing, OO-cat. I used to be able to get it there before--- they must have stopped selling it... |

Oh not to worry Manslayerliz. I have a small WFs and they have a limited selection. For instance they don't sell Dr. H make-up...which perhaps is not such a bad thing! I like that place a lot though. The staff are always so happy and helpful.
I checked the reviews on Dermologica Multi-Vitamin Recovery Mask and I am droooooolllliiiinnngggg though. Does anybody know where I can lay my hands on a sample before I fork out $50! |

Actually, if you add some avocado to the yoghurt, it's even more hydrating. |

The Fresh Rose mask is a great suggestion. MyChelle's Blueberry mask is another nice one. |

what about PSF's moisturizing mask?
And re: yogourt--this is a source of lactic acid and is actually an exfoliant, too. how about using yogurt and honey, and then finishing with emu or camellia oil?

I used to have dry skin. So I've tried lots of hydrating mask before - h20, shiseido, lancome, dermalogica, clarins, avene, Dr. Hauschka and probably many more...
the best goes to two:
1) SKII Aqua pack
2) Living Nature hydrating mask (a new zealand brand made from manuka honey)
The reasons why they are exceptional because they are gel texture yet not sticky and it doesnt clog pores, very important. |

If you skin is screaming for hydration then dont go past the PSF hydrating mask. It brought my skin back from the dead after a few days in the very dry and very cold (which meant additional dry heating) weather of the Japanese Alps area.
Seriously. I threw it on because it was the only hydrating mask I have but I did not expect great results as it had done nothing spectacular for me when I tried it throughout summer - I guess my skin was no dehydrated enough at that time.
And it has nice ingredients and is cheap to boot! |

I've also been using the Living Nature Hydrating Mask and have been very pleased with it. As pickiis says, it's a light, gel texture that doesn't clog, but really does make your skin feel softer and more hydrated.
pickiis - Just out of interest, do you like the smell? I think it smells like manure and honey! |
