I have managed it with my legs and bikini for a while now. I have the Enjoi Elite and it was so worth it. I save so much on waxing and doing it does not stress me out at all. It truly doesn't hurt.

Now, armpits, a whole other story. I really can't do it. It pulls LIKE CRAZY and hurts like crazy. It's red and raised if I just barely try it. One thing is I think I let the hair get a little too long before doing it so I 'm thinking about shaving and then start with the epilater about 3 days later.

I REALLY want to make this work. I hate the 5:00 shadow under my arms THE DAY AFTER I SHAVE. It's a pain, especially with trying to exercise daily and wearing sleeveless things.

Has anyone been more successful with this. I remember someone did it on their mustashe, so what's my problem. I feel wimpy about it, but mama it hurts!

well, out of everything, the armpits bug me the least. but you might just be really sensitive there. have you tried the no scream cream? it dulls the pain quite a bit. check dermstore.com

OMG really, armpits the LEAST!!!! Now I really want to make it work. I'll think about the no scream cream. But it's not just the pain. I can take the pain if it means no more shaving there. But my armpits look so red and inflamed, like something is really wrong when I do it.

I LOVE epilating my underarms! I mean, it sucks because it hurts, but like you my underarm hair grows back sooo quickly. And I have black hair so it's noticeable. So the trick is to do it once a week. That way there isn't much regrowth and it really doesn't hurt much. It's quick and easy. The first time I did it, I was is so much pain because there was tons of hair. And when I slack off and wait too long and too much hair has grown back, it hurts. so you have to be good about doing it on a regular basis. But really, it takes less time than shaving and no stubble!

Make sure the hair isn't too long, and epilate under your arms once a week - there's less hair to pull that way, so it hurts less.

Also, be very sure to pull the skin VERY taut to prevent it becoming pinched in the epilator. (I've managed to do that several times and it blummin' hurts!)

I second all of the above - you could also try dusting under the arms with a small amount of talc, it really helps to have the skin completely dry.

I love the result! Once you've finished the initial round it's pretty painless if you don't wait too long Smile

Thank you all so much. Now I am really determined. It does seem that I must be doing something wrong since it is so much harder for me. I think the powder may really help. As I look back on it I wonder if some of my underarm skin actually got pinched by it. I don't think I held the skin taut enough and I didn't use any powder.

Reminds me of one time when I accidentally got my finger stuck in the thing. Now that was crazy. So maybe a little bit of that is happening under my arms.

I shaved with a razor last night and of course I already have stubble. So, I think I will wait until Sunday and then go for it again. Wish me luck.

How odd - my armpits are actually the only place i epilate! My legs KILL and the ingrowns are hidious (so i shave) ... i have lasered most of my bikini area so its just the ol' pits. I also hate the 5'o clock shadow so i use that braun epilator ... it does hurt but because it is quick i cope. I do take some codiene before hand so i am sure it helps Laughing

How did you go michelec? Was it any better?

I had my underarms lasered but used to use Emjoy on them and it was actually the place that hurt least. The legs kill me! I agree with the previous recommendations: make sure the hair is not too long, dust some baby powder, and pull the skin taught. I used to end up with my elbow behind my head somewhere to get to the stage where there was no pulling from the Emjoy.

Thanks to all of you who have cared about my armpits.

Here's what's happened. I have been too chicken. Each time I let it get too long and decide that I'll have to shave it and start again. Then I let it get too long again...and so on ...and so on...

So I realized I was putting it off because of dreading it. So, I shaved last night (Tuesday) and I think I'll try the epilator on Friday. Maybe that's too soon, but it seems like it can go from too short to too long in one day.

I'll post here how it goes so it forces me to do it.

Michele
