Ohhh, *drools* I just bought their 9 piece brush set and love it. Was bemoaning the lack of a contour brush and a skunk brush.

I am definitely getting those, and maybe some other brushes once photos of the designs are put up.

Am I reading this right? You get ALL the brushes for $149? Every single one? Or am I getting carried away? I wanted to see a photo of the Ultimate Professional Collection but there isn't one on the website. Can anyone correct me?

I believe you are right.

It would make an awesome Xmas pack, since whatever you have duplicates of, you can give as presents.

Sorry to ask another question Embarassed , but do you also get the six piece set? All the single brushes plus the six piece travel set, for $149? Sorry if I'm being a bit thick here, but it seems too good to be true!

I believe so Rachael, since the ultimate pack gives 27 samples, and the pre-buy brushes page has 27 items listed excluding the ultimate pack.

OK, thanks for clarifying that. My opinion is that if something seems too good to be true it usually is. But not this time! I'm looking through the Lumiere sight and have found the pre-buy info. Credit card at the ready......

Hi Rachael,

Yes you get the 6 piece set, the 9 piece set( both in rolls) plus 25 brushes plus 27 free baggie samples for $149 amazing isn't it!

As far as photos go, Kim has said to google the brushes to get an idea of what they look like.
Once she has samples of them she will take a pic and post but it will be a while as they haven't been created yet.

It's really too good to miss isn't it? I've been saving for new brushes for a long time now, and have tried a couple of BB but really am not impressed, especially for the price (sorry if I upset any BB fans). These brushes sound great and the kabuki gets great reviews on MUA.

Rachael, the kabuki is fabulous. I love mine and need a spare for when mine is drying post-wash.

I was visiting my mother recently, who is in the mid stages of Alzheimers. She still likes to wear makeup, but she can't apply it very well and had all this gloopy uneven foundation on her face that looked terrible and was staining her blouses. So I bought her a pressed mineral foundation and one of the Lumiere kabukis. She just loves using it because it feels so soft. Every time she uses it she says, "Oh I feel just like a movie star with my special brush." To be honest, I think it doesn't matter whether she actually uses the mineral foundation or not, it's the feel of the brush that she really enjoys.

Now that's a commendation for a brush, no?

I own the kabuki and it is a wonderful soft brush. I have other kabuki that are pricier including Red Earth (SDM $38.00 cdn) and Everyday Minerals white premium.

There is a few reviews for Kim's products on makeupalley.com including the brushes. IIRC it is Unlisted brands.

If you need further details the very nice ladies on the Lumiere Addicts forum can explain the brush deal. My understanding is yes, you can purchase the whole lot for $149.00. Kim did a pre-sell a while ago and it went very well. She is basically buying a huge shipment of brushes (better pricing obviously) so she is getting volume pricing and passing on savings. The brushes are estimated to ship out in November.

I am not sure if you are getting 27 samples in baggies when ordering the complete brush set for $149.00. (27 samples!!) Kim normally sells baggies of samples for $1.25. I just ordered and took advantage of Louie discount and I was charged $1.25 for blush and blush/bronzer samples (less 20%).

She will be selling brushes individually also. Quite a few on the forum had mentioned that while it was a great deal; they already had brushes and just did not need all the complete set.

Yes, I am a fan of Kim's products and have ordered from her many times.

To clarify - the 6 piece and 9 piece brush set should be actually 5 brushes + bag and 8 brushes + bag.

Why hasn't there been an official review thread of Lumiere's brushes? I guess I better write mine Laughing .

autumn95 -my understanding is that you do get a free sample for every brush you buy( sets count as 1 sample) I don't think you can use any discount codes for this offer so that is why you may have been charged for some samples- but I'm not sure though. As you say the lumiere addicts are the people to ask.
Thanks for pointing out that you can buy the brushes individually, I was thinking i hadn't mentioned it. I only have the baby buki at the moment so I got a bit carried away over the whole set Rolling Eyes

cuppre -thanks for pointing out the 6 and 9 piece set is actually 5 brushes + bag and 8 brushes + bag, hadn't realised that Embarassed

Flitcraft- so glad your mum is getting so much pleasure out of the brush and makeup. My mum has Alzheimer's too, it must be such a joy to see her getting so much pleasure from them.

What a great story!
Well, I've gone ahead and ordered the full kit! I'll just have to be patient now,and wait for them to be delivered. It'll be an early christmas present to myself!
Thanks for the advice everyone, and jlcov1, I'm still working on the staroage option. Haven't given up yet!

OK, my wish list consists of 7 different brushes (including 4 different Kabuki's) Very Happy. I also looked at the other stuff they have and now I want to try everything Rolling Eyes . I think I'll stick to my brushes and samples for now. I'll review the brush list once again to make sure I haven't missed anything important, but I think that the 7 brushes I selected so far pretty much cover all my needs (I wear very little make up, aside from my MMU foundation, bronzer and blush).
I'm happy. Very Happy

Double Trouble, based on my experience with the Lumiere kabuki and mini-kabuki, this is an incredible steal. And even if you don't need or use all of the brushes, you've got goodies now to use for gifts. What's not to like?

I agree, the brushes get great reviews and it's an offer too good to miss. You may well end up with duplicates, I'm sure I will. I placed my order this morning, and my plan is to have a full set at home, a set to keep in my bag for touch ups, a travel set, and from whst's left I may give them as gifts, sell them, or keep as back up. I won't need to buy brushes for a long long time now, so I'm happy and I'm convinced I've got a great deal. You did the right thing! Very Happy

I wanted to update my previous post. This is my answer from the hostess on Lumiere addicts in regards to free samples and the pre-buy brush sale.

Answer on Lumiere forum

One brush gets you one sample. when you click to buy the pre-buy you get a drop down menus with choices of what you want to sample. If you get the entire set for 149, then yes you do get 27 samples. And yes, you will NOT get your samples untill the brushes are shipped to you.
