I need help to find a foundation!!

I've tried so many foundation, everything from Lancome Teint Idole to I.D/B.E..
I'm very pale, Scandinavian.
I don't like cheaper brands like Maybelline etc.

The foundation has to be mattifying, long-lasting and in light shade.

I like MAC (Studio fix) but it's a bit too yellow for me I think :/

Please, please help me!!

Have you tried mineral makeup? I think it's the best around and there are so many different brands/shades to try now!

Yes I have.. I've tried both I.D (Bareescentuals) and YoungBlood, I find them natural and nice, though they don't last as long as I wish :/
But thanks anyway!

Did you use a finishing powder/mineral veil afterwards and spritz with water or some sort of toner? That really sets my mmu for me!

melexia,
I love my Chanel Teinte Innocence that a friend from this forum recommended to me. Since I began wearing this I've had several clients buy it as well because they liked how it looked on me. My friend is fair and had no problem getting a match.

The Laura Mercier pressed minerals foundation is really nice and has a colour called Bisque that is quite pale with no udnertones, Definately lasts all day and is matte (at least on me) The "Prime time" by Bare Escentuals primer is really good for under the mineral makeup (if you go that route) Its an excellent primer that I find is not really discussed too much Smile

I LOVE the Prime Time Primer, it is awesome and does not make me break out like other primers have done. I had to try several MMU before I found one that worked for me.

Thanks to everybody!! Smile

I've tried one of Chanel's and I didn't like it, and I need one that's mattifying, but maybe I'll try the Teint Innocence..

I've tried mineral foundations yes, they're very good, but I don't think that they last all day :/

MAC is the best I've ever tried so far, I think they're even better than Lancome, though Lancome is really gooood, and they've got great mascaras Very Happy

What about Illuminare? They have one that's supposed to stay all day with matte finish. They also sell sample packs of their foundations Smile

I believe the link is:

http://www.lumierecosmetics.com/

I just order several samples from them yesterday. Really cheap price for samples + free shipping. My skin sounds very similar to yours; very fair skin, oily t-zone that requires a matte finish foundation. I have been using Youngblood's liquid MMU and I although I do like it, I have to agree with you that it just doesn't last all day. It seems to sort of fade off and needs frequent touch-ups. I have read a lot of raves about on here about Lumiere MMU so maybe this work better.

I use mineral makeup right now so I haven't tried this line but have heard good things. It has a zero minus color that you can use to make any foundation more pale. You said you were Scandinavian but I don't know if that means you are currently living in a Scandinavian country or of Scandinavian heritage living elsewhere. This line may only ship to U.S. and Canada.

Yep, Illuminare is a brand (and I did not mean Luminere, which I've not tried Smile ).

I haven't used the matte ones so I don't know if they really last all day, but I bought the sample pack where you get all the three types of foundation in either light, medium or dark and I really liked the Fantastic Finish one. The matte ones are too matte for my skin Smile

They probably have a web site, but I haven't seen it. However, I think Skinstore has a pretty complete range.

Oh, okey, I haven't tried YB's liquid version, but my skin therapeust told me that I probably wouldn't prefer it in the summer if I wanted a matte apperance.

Where does it say that Lumiere gives you a matte apperance?
Which one do you think I should take, I'm pale, but I don't wanto be like a corpse-like, hehe. And I prefer cold tones..

Thanks!!

Where have you heard of Illumiere?

What foundations have you tried before, that you're comparing with?

I have tried a lot of MMU foundations and still like the Laura Mercier MMU and the Lumiere MMU. Lumiere has four different formulas for different skin types. The Laura Mercier MMU does stay on all day which is why I like it.

I'm using Everyday Minerals makeup and it looks perfectly natural! You can go to their website: www dot everydayminerals dot com and ordered their free sample kit (which is under 'Custom kit'). They have a wide range of shades so probably you will find the one that suits your skin Wink

I am a brand new MMU user and have decided to use Lumiere Veena Velvet loose foundation. I actually bought lots of samples from Lumiere, Alima and Everyday Minerals. I started testing with the Lumiere and got a pretty close match with the first sample I tried. My skin didn't break out like I was afraid it would, and it stayed matt all day, so I decided to stop right there and stick with Lumiere. I'm still working on the right application of it, and just yesterday ordered samples of the other 3 loose powder formulations they have, just because I prefer a bit of a dewy look rather than the matt. But if you are looking for a matt look, then the Veena Velvet is a good start.

Oh, okey! So you didn't try Alima and Everyday minerals then?
What foundations have you tried before?
I read some reviews about Lumiere at makeupalley and the impression wasn't that good I have to say.. :/
What skintype do you have?

Thanks for the tip about the code! Smile
