To ladies in their 50s, I have some concealers I like, but none i really love, nothing is making me happy. I look at other women and they look fine under the eyes.
I think my undereyes need exfoliation, but how to do this? They are REAL sensitive.
I use the best eye creams, also, and emu oil, too.
I like Biotherm concealer, but it's a little dry, I love Bobbi Brown, but it's a little shiny and moves around a little, powder is a NO NO on me, and I like Stila Perfecting concealer, but nothing looks very smooth/natural. I have very dry undereyes and I do use the richest eye creams. I've tried all techniques, all brushes, I'm tired of this.
And then if I find one I love, like Bobbi Brown, it just doesn't stay looking nice, after an hour it's settled into lines, etc.
And then there's the color problem. I may try Becca next, they have lots of colors.
i also have Cle de Peau concealer, it looks dry on me. I have tried probably 50 different concealers over the past years, lol. |

Hi luvsgracy,
Wish I had the answer for you but I have the same problem. For months now I've been going without any concealer because everything seems to make my fine lines look worse and / doesn't blend well. I'll be watching this thread for people's feedback.
One question though - have you tried either Jane Iredale's Circle Delete or Jane Iredale Active Light Undereye Concealer? I wondering because I've been considering them for my next try.  |

| I just started using Lauren Hutton's concealers in her face disk (can be obtained in a Try-Me Trio) and they are wonderful. Normally, I get crepey under/around my eyes but the concealer is a sheer, light color that brightens as well as covers...amazing stuff. It works great around my eyes - no settling into fine lines at all (unlike MMU). |

46 here with dry under eyes! Jane Iredale Circle Delete has worked the best for me (avocado oil is main ingredient), very moisturizing, other concealers just make things worse for me! Covers, doesn't dry out during the day and look cakey. Either with concealer brush or tapping in with finger works well.
The Jane Iredale highlighter (illuminating whatever its called), I fell out of love with. Started drying out and didn't go on well after a while. |

| I gave up concealer years ago because of this. However, I recently discovered circle delete & it works very well. Another one is Armani's concealer which dosen't cake or settle into line. I think I prefer the JI one though if I had to make a choice. |

I honestly have noticed this problem for a really long time now, and had all but forgone concealer for the very same reasons you all cite here, when all of a sudden, one product SAVED me from ALL of my woes. It's expensive. It doesn't give TOTAL coverage. But it works magic and DISAPPEARS into the skin. When you look up close, you cannot even see the product on the skin. It doesn't settle into lines (you have to pat concealer back in and feather it out of the lines after about 15 minutes, though--works like a charm), it doesn't cake or flake, covers RED PERFECTLY, and it has all kinds of wondrous goodies in it to boot.

It is truly amazing; I will never use another concealer again. Even more amazing, I used it on my friend who has all sorts of crags and fine lines under her eyes, as well as a scar from a elanoma operation, and her eyes looked fantastic, she could not believe it--it made her lines almost disappear, and really made her look so youthful.
In general, I think these "illuminator" pens are really the best things to use around the eyes--they give a much more natural finish and never look too heavy or like they are 'concealing' things. This is available almost everywhere in France... and is avail everywhere By Terry is sold, including Barney's. I got mine from her store here in Paris, but I think some Sephoras carry it, too. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, I just don't know!

Now, I have hope, thank you everyone.
I'm going to try the Iredale Circle Delete and the by Terry one, too.
To avalange, how does this concealer by "by Terry" compare to YSL Touche Eclait? Just wondering, because I'm not thrilled about Touche Eclait, it's actually kind of drying.
Oh, and yes, Lauren Hutton's concealer is pretty good, but is still a little noticeable and a little unsmooth, no matter what I do, but it's pretty good.
I also have trouble with concealer staying put in the dark inner corners of the eye sort of up on the nose area and I'm thinking of trying a primer there first, then concealer. |

I like Armani concealer, but it's very light and doesn't not provide a lot of coverage for dark circles.
Dior lifting smoothing concealer covers well, but drying.
The best one for me was Estrompe Eclat by Chanel. Covers well and hydrates well.
Note: I have mild rosacea, the skin under my eyes is very sensitive, thin and dry. If I don't have enough sleep or feel tired my eyes look swollen as if after a continual drinking  |

| Have you tried Chantecaille concealer especially designed for eye? It is a lipstick style concealer stick with a 'nourishing' center which is very good for the dry under eye area. It comes in a few shades too. |

The best one I've found for staying where I put it is Prescriptives Flawless Skin spf 25. It conceals and brightens. I consider it my favorite, although I do also like Lauren Hutton and Amazing. Prescriptives is the best one I've found for the inner area of eye by the nose. I, too, found the YSL a bit drying.
And I might have to try the By Terry product, when I find it. |

I like this Prescriptives concealer as well. I've been using it for about 6 months now or so. Nice coverage for my dark circles and although it does crease a little during the day, I find I can use my finger to gently smooth it out again.
However, being the makeup junkie I am, I just bought Bobbi Brown creamy concealer and powder today (plus the corrector) and am going to give that a try as well. |

I can't tell by my computer screen if I need the By Terry product in Apricot or Amber shade. 
Yet, I do love the Prescriptive's.....so, not sure why I'm looking.... |

Have you tried Helena Rubinstein's Magic Concealer? I'm in love with it ( I trashed all the others when I found it ).
It conceals, it illuminates and it moisturizes  |

Lunarmm, thanks a lot. The site I was looking at last night only had 2 shades, so I thought that's all there were. Your link showed 4 shades, and it helped me determine Apricot would (will? ) probably be my choice.
I can't even remember what site I was at last night. I can't even believe I actually used the word "need" in my post last night!
I went to bed right after that post, and it's probably a good thing. I do try to practice "sleep on it."

You know, the UK site is OOS on all shades except the darkest. (Amber) And, I can't decide between Rosy (lightest) or Apricot for my shade. If Apricot is right, it's available on eluxury. Decisions.
And the biggest decision of all: since I do like Prescriptive's very much.....must I order another concealer/brightener? Oy. If I never bought another product, I'm sure I have enough of everything for the rest of my life.
I'll keep thinking about this. Today, I brought out my Lauren Hutton face disk, having been stashed for a couple months, although I do like it. (do we see a pattern emerging here?) It is so nice for a natural look, which is fine for today. Yardwork and gardening. But when I want a more polished, finished look, it isn't quite enough. So, maybe the By Terry concealer could be for those extra special polished-look type days. Like when I'm picking the flowers that I'm planting today. |

Hi Cedar and Lunar,
I am olive toned and my friend is very pink-red, and we both used #3 with great success--not sure if this is the apricot or no, but it seems to be a nice, all-purpose brightening color. the rosy (I think #1?) is VERY light pink, and the amber has a tan hue. In my opinion, the two middle colors are the best!

avalange, thank you. It seems the shades go, in order of light to dark: rosy, apricot, honey, amber.
I am leaning towards apricot if I order.
I just read the mua reviews and am now quite confused. Darn it. I might have to sleep on this again tonight, and, if I do that enough times, there will be a "new improved" version when I awaken one day, which will address all concerns that ever existed. Well, maybe not......

For me, the ONLY thing that covers undereye circles completely and all day is pretty much any liquid concealer set with loose powder.
I realize you said loose powder doesn't work for you, but perhaps the problem there, just like the concealer, is that you haven't tried the right one yet.
I use T. Leclerc loose powder, and absolutely adore it. It is just soooo finely milled, it literally just sweeps onto the skin, makes everything matte, and disappears. My skin is typically normal to oily around the eye area, but even when I was on Accutane, and my skin was so dry it was peeling off, this powder never clung to the bits, nor does it cake when my skin is oily. It really just makes my undereyes completely, seamless matte, which is crucial. I feel like without the loose powder, the concealer is still somewhat translucent. The powder also makes it last all day. |
