I just did an advance google search on EDS, but ended up getting more confused
I'm quickly approaching 40 and am battling very sundamaged skin, large pores, scars, uneven skin texture etc etc. My skin is normally very oily. I'm taking Spirolactone and that has really decreased the oil!
I just need to know what works better for aging skin that is still prone to breakouts and is also the most gentle since my skin can get irritated easily, Retin A, RAM or Tazorac?
There is no Derm in my town and I will be asking my GP for one of the above. I just need opinions of all the various Vit A users. TIA |

I would stay away from regular retin a and consider retin a micro, tazorac, or differin. also do a board search for short contact therapy -- that's the only way I can use prescription retinoids without too much irritation. good luck! |

I love Tazorac. I used regular Retin-A first then I had a prescription for Tazorac and my adult acne was completely cured and I think it has also had an effect on fine lines. My skin has reacted to some things but it likes the Taz.
Start lowly and good luck. |

I thought the majority of Retin A and Tazorac users were using the products for acne, at least it seems that way to me I was interested in using an A product ( the most gentle Rx ) for antiaging purposes, I was under the impression people had results with fine lines, etc when using Vit A products. Am I wrong on this? |

I love my regular retin-a. I've been using it for 6 months and my skin has really shown improvement. It's the only thing that has cleared up my persistent adult acne; it gives a "glow" to my skin; it is evening out my skin tone; and I just plain look better. Even though I have just turned 50, wrinkles are not a huge problem for me yet, so I can't speak too informatively about its effect there. I am using both the .05% and the.1%, depending on the area of my face. I highly recommend it. |
