I have done a really silly thing
I had a little lump on my cheek for ages which you couldn't really see and the other day I got stress and attacked it thats what I do when stressed....squeeze!!
Anyway...squeezed way way way to hard (got it out though the little b*gger!!) but..it has left a HUGH red mark which has gone dry on top which is really difficult to cover up
What shall I dooooooooo.......... |

I would start applying vitamin E oil (wound healing) at intervals during the day, alternating with tea tree oil (antiseptic). Put Neosporin on at night to prevent infection and help it to heal.
OR, apply hyaluronic acid throughout the day to help with healing followed by rosehip oil (also helps with healing/prevents scarring).
OR, if you don't have any of the above, apply an antibiotic cream like Neosporin/Polysporin.
Unfortunately, covering with makeup could lead to infection. You should just let it show (eek!) but it will help it to heal faster that way. |

If you can find a product called Bactroban I'd give it a shot. It's like neosporin but works WAY faster. It's great for infections, rashes, cuts, even the occassional zit... |

i've found the best thing to deal with these types of situations is polysporin (the cream, not the ointment!) and wait it out.
if you do have some mineral powder, i've found that it helps for coverup - just don't put it on too heavily in case of flaking. just dab a bit on w. a clean q-tip. most mineral powders contain zinc which is good for blemishes + healing them.

Thanks for all the advice!!
Its still with me three days later
I haven't heard of any of those creams so I don't know if you can get them in the uk.
I have vitamin E oil, rosehip seed oil and teatree oil and just some normal antiseptic cream. What combination should I use them in?
And do I REALLY have to show!!! Must say it shows anyway even with makeup |

I'm in the uk! try toothpaste (if it's not too angry) or aloe vera gel. Failing that sudocreme is an easy and good treatment!

neosporin is just one of those anti bacterial creams you can get at the drugstore or chemists for minor cuts and abrasions. it usually comes in a metal small tube and is usually right beside the bandaids. |

You may have to be a little careful with Neosporin or other antiseptic ointments because my doctor told me that in general, people use it too much. I had an infected toe that I kept soaking and then applying Neosporin to, and the doc said that actually the ointment wasn't letting the infection drain properly. I would choose an cream over an ointment...at least that would absorb better. |

ahh littlebo! you are obviously not a mum! sudocreme is marketed as nappyrash cream, but it is also good for eczema and zits (as well as burns sores etc). It is mildly antiseptic and contains zinc, which apparantly helps spotty skin....my daughter uses it when she has a major breakout and finds it very helpful and I used it in my unfortunate acid peel incident a while back. every chemist in the uk has it as well as regular shops...just look in the baby section, mid grey tub with red and white label. I think it should be used sparingly, though miniguapa says it's best thick on an unpopped spot. Hope that helps

Anyone thought of collidal silver? I heard it was good for skin irritations! Maybe check it out online first. I know you can get it at most health stores. |

my mini-me uses it at night as a kind of mask and then wipes the excess off before she goes to sleep. As chief launderer, I can confirm that it makes a real mess of sheets. It is however amazing at drying out zits and keeps her happy so I put up with it!!!!! You could use it during the day but it will leave a white cast if you don't keep it to the affected area. Actually I used to use it as a kind of white foundation when I was a goth in the 80s, but I didn't know about it's anti zit properties back then Liz x |

Guapagirl! I bought some sudocream. I am really liking it! Its too late for my mammoth mark, which is now a red scar by the way but I have been using it as I have the dreaded monthly hormonals! aaargh
Works like a charm. Shame about the white colour, my other half thought he was getting in bed with a different woman the other night! |
