I am currently using Prescriptive foundation (forgot the line, i think true skin or something) and this is my fourth bottle. Loving it. Somehow after half a day passes, the make up seems fading. I know the coverage is a bit less. Can anyone recommend a good foundation with better coverage?
btw, I tried laura Mercier but they dont have anything suitable for my skin tone. I am Asian, yellow complesion.
Thanks in advance |

I love the Estee Lauder double wear foundation. It lasts the whole day on my skin (I am a bit oily as well). The coverage will vary depending on how much you put on- but I find it has more coverage than most foundations. My skin is yellow based as well and I have been using "Tawny"- its a great match.
I used to use MAC's studio fix liquid foundation and loved it as well- but it broke me out. |

Thanks Canadian girl, I used EL's loose power before and got a lot of GWP, most of which are eye shadows. They are ok, not quite impressed.
Btw, I am in Toronto! |

If you can get your hands on Kryolan Foundation TV Stick (a theatrical brand), it gives fantastic coverage and has lots of yellow-based tones |

I just bought Chanel Mat Lumiere and it provides buildable and lasting coverage, I'm using #20 Claire and it matches my asian, yellow based complexion very well and I'm loving it! Might be worthwhile getting a sample to try it out first?
Have used Prescriptives Virtual Matte, Revlon Colorstay, Ultima II Wonderwear previously but the Chanel one is my favorite out of the lot. |

La Prairie Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation. It's expensive, but a little goes a long way. I used it when I was going through a bad spell of problem skin and needed coverage that didn't dry or cause more break-outs, and it worked for me. Though now that my skin is back to normal, I don't like such a heavy coverage.) It also comes with a little pot of matching concealer on top. |

illuminare has an ultimate all day foundation which is supposed to be long-lasting. i think the florentine fair shade might work for you. i myself am using the extra coverage version as a concealer, i think it's fab! i use it on top of my meow minerals (naughty korat is my HG so far!) hth!! |

I have been using the LM silk creme foundation mixed with a touch of the Dr. Hauschka foundation and applied with a sponge. I find it gives exellent coverage, and also a dewy look that is not too greasy. |

Have you tried layering a mineral makeup over your liquid foundation? I haven't myself, but my daughter does that when she wants extra coverage and she thinks it works well. Another advantage of doing that is that there are so many shades with yellow or golden undertones in mineral makeup that you may find that it adjusts your foundation slightly and makes it that much better a match for your skin. |

...or maybe just use mineral make up anyway and build it up to the level and in the places you want. And flit is right about the tones they carry... I was amazed at the variance of lumiere's colours! |

I find that MAC studio fix foundation has great coverage and lasts all day. They also seems to have more of a yellowish tint so they should match up nicely on you. |

You might want to try Prescriptives in Virtual Matte.
I use Virtual Skin and when I went to the cosmetics counter a couple of months ago, the woman gave me the Matte and the texture was totally different and stayed on my face all day with way less shine than normal. I exchanged it as I was not ready to make a change, but it worked well for my skin.
I am half Asian and with oily skin. HTH |

Lancome's Tient Idole has great coverage. I've been using it for years. |

I haven't tried this new one yet. I liked their last one by the same name. |

Chloelee are you using Px Virtual Youth? This one has quite a bit of coverage. other thing you might consider is a good primer. Smashbox and Laura Mercier are good. they really do help makeup stay put! |

I am using La mer. It is really good. For better coverage, you can try MAC or Bobbi Brown. |

Do you use a primer? If not, I'd really recommend one. It will not just make your foundation look better but will make it last a lot longer. Also, set your foundation with a yellow-based transulent powder.
If you're happy with the colour of your existing foundation, then I'd try and stick to that, it's too hard to get the right tone! Especially if your skin is yellow-toned.
And as suggested, might be worth checking out the same colour in different textures from Prescriptives. If the SA knows you, she will be more likely to put stuff in pots for you etc. |
