The recent thread on heel care made me start thinking about the large callus on the inside of my middle finger--what we in pre-computer days used to call the "writer's bump," caused by friction between pen or pencil and finger.
(Actually, I bet no one under 50 even has them anymore...)

Has anyone successfully banished this kind of callus? I was thinking about using the foot file and heavy duty heel-strength glycolic acid on it. Has anyone tried it? Is it all too much for the delicate finger skin??

LOL, I am 39 and I have had them.
Mine was huge but it just went away over the years -- for the last 10 years or so, I have only held a pen about 9 times a year.

How much are you using a pen now?

I confess, I did "peel" it a few times -- just hauled off the skin manually, so I bet the glycolic would be fine, if you could keep it away from your sensitive nail bed and from running down to the webbing in your finger which is quite thin skin.
