I'm posting on the DIY thread a new recipe given to me today! It's for a cream, and can be used on the face as well as the body. I'm thinking if this could possibly be an alternative for our much-loved decleor balms? It has no nut oil, so it should work for nut-allergic people.

I haven't tried it, though. I'm waiting for my pure shea butter to arrive from Nigeria in two weeks time! Can't wait! (Rubbing my hands here in glee anticipation!)

Hi Pumpingmummy,

I'm dying to see it ... but it doesn't seem to be part of the DIY thread yet. Confused I must be too early? Laughing

We die-hard DIY-ers love to see new recipes! Laughing

I'll check it out tomorrow. I already have pure shea nut butter ... Very Happy

Mary

Sorry Mary, I got held up by a rumbling tummy! As soon as this thread was up I suddenly decided I was hungry and went off to grab a bite. Naturally a bite became a whole meal and took longer than I thought...

But hey it's up, now. Let me know what you think. Very Happy

Hi Pumpingmummy,

Got the recipe ... got the ingredients ... so I'll make it in the next day or two.

But ... shea butter is a "nut" butter ... the label on my jar says "Shea Nut Butter" ... so would that bother those with nut allergies?

I'm cautious with beeswax because I have found it does bother my skin ... so I'm sticking with the shea nut butter for this one ... [I don't have nut allergies ... thankfully!] Laughing

Will let you know how it works for me!

Mary

Yeah I was thinking about that, too. I'm going to use just shea butter also, but only because I can't grab hold of beeswax. Thankfully, too, I don't have a nut allergy.

Still...I'm wondering wat nut-allergic and beeswax allergic people can do... hmm

It's also really cocoa nut butter, isn't it? Is shea nut really a nut?

What are the properties of rose hip oil and geranium oil? I have the other ingredients I
wonder if it is OK to substitue oils.

I know this is old but I'd sure like to take a look at the recipe. I can't seem to find the "thread" though. Anyone who can help out here ?
Thanks.
