Can anyone suggest a good body cleanser and moisturizer to control occaisonal breakouts? Especially since returning back to the gym I am starting to get blotchy again! |

nature's cure makes a handy salicylic acid spray for body acne...then follow with something like Jan Marini or DDF glycolic lotions or AmLactin for exfoliation and you should be good to go! |

Try a glycolic body wash--or a glycolic body lotion. i think skinbiology makes a copper peptide body lotion that may help. |

I would advise you to not seek special products for your chest, but to treat it as an extension of your face and use your best acne fighting facial products there.
I am horribly prone to acne on my chest, it's been like that since my teens. The skin on my face is usually pretty much perfect (I'm 21) but I'll have a few pimples on my chest practically all the time. It's very rare that I ever wear a shirt that's not up to my neck in the front, I always want to cover up the pimples on my chest...
My recently discovered HG is Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum because it does prevent acne, and I can use it all the time without it drying out my skin. I'm also beginning to use the green apple peel (but I have the drugstore juice organics version) It really does seem to work. If I stop my preventative acne routine for even a few days, a new pimple shows up and it takes forever to go away. All the stuff I've used earlier would dry me out so much I would be unable to use it consistently, which is what I need to do with my chest. Right at this moment I do have a few pimples on my chest, but that's because I was lazy for a couple of days last week. (Oh and if I ever just leave a pimple alone to go away on its own it never does, believe it or not, but I've had a very special pimple in the center of my chest for over a year at some point) |

Neutrogena makes a body wash for acne. Also, someone recommended to use Head and Shoulders Classic Clean Shampoo as a wash on the chest and back. My daughter has being using this product and it helps control her acne. |

The Head and Shoulders worked well for my daughter. Then I had her try the St. Ives Apricot scrub that had been recommended for the same, but it didn't work as well as the Head and Shoulders.

Try the ZNP bar. If the Head and Shoulders worked for you, but is too drying then try the ZNP bar. You can order it online for about $8.
I love it and it does not dry me out and make me itchy like H&S.
The zinc has really made a difference for me. I have had issues for years with chest and backne. Its a non issue now. The bar really helps prevent breakouts and when I do get a flare up it heals so much faster.
I will never be without it! Good luck |

Switch to a liquid detergent if you're using a powder one and use a tea tree soap. |

thanks for this thread. I have this problem too. It's especially annoying now that summer is approching here.
I was keen to try the jan marini or ddf glycolic products but eds will not ship outside us/canada for these brands. I think I will try the PTR equivalent. |

deanne123,
where can you order this ZNP bar from? I would love to try it out. I was using Head and shoulders for a while, but it seems to have stopped working, and lately I have been getting many breakouts on my back.
Maybe the ZNP bar will work, can you send me the purchasing details.
Thanks
CG

Hi, this is my first post here, but i've been reading this forum like crazy for the past month, it's really addicting!! Anyway, i've been struggling with body acne for the past two years, and it seems like i've finally found a solution. I use head & shoulders (yes, the schampoo!!) and rub into moist back and chest. Then i let it sit for app. 5 - 10 minutes, and then i wash it off. Believe me this works! I have been using tons of benzoyl peroxide on my back for two years, but it never really helped. The h&s started to work almost immediately! I know i sound a bit too subjective but for me it's like a miracle that somthing actually works on me! |
