Hi!! I have actually been lurking for quite awhile and am overwhelmed by all the skin products that are out there.

I need to find a basic skin care regime that will work for me, and need some help. My preference is all natural, since I have some health issues and have converted to an organic lifestyle.

I am looking for a cleanser, toner, moisturizer and exfoliating treatment. I also should probably be using something at nightime now that I am 37. I have combination skin, sensitive, with slight rosacea. Oily in the T-Zone/Large Pores/Blackheads. I tend to get bumps (not pimples) on my face, and around my neckline.

Here are some of the products that I have used that worked for awhile: Dr. H., Suki, MyChelle, Cosmedix, SkinCeuticals

I would love any suggestions.....Thanks!!!

I have a rec for an exfoliator...Kate Somerville ExfoliKate. I really like this one right now...leaves my face feeling so soft and smooth....it burns a bit when you first put it on FYI but it works great!

junasarra,

Are the Kate Somerville products all natural?? I looked on their website and could not find anything listing the ingredients of the products.

Hi, welcome Whitmanea!

I'm not Junasarra, but from the ingredient listings I have read for KS products, they are a cosmeceuticals based range, not "botanically" based - so no they are not natural products.

If you are into natural skincare, I'd also recommend Jurlique products. They are similar to Dr H, with the principal of using active plant extracts.

Another range is Zenbiotics, which is what I have been using for the past year. Their cleansers and toners are excellent.

miranets,

It looks like we might have similar skin. Could you tell me what products you are using of the Zenbiotics?

I have been interested in trying the Jurlique products, however reading some of the posts it sounds like most people are not thoroughly impressed.

Anyway, Zenbiotics look likes it has a unique color coding system. How do you choose....??

I recommend you start with vitamin c serum and aha to exfoliate dead skin.

Hi whitmanea

Have you tried Jurlique? I'd say it's a good brand to start with as it offers a wide range of products for all skin types. However, the price is higher than other organic/natural brands. Another line worth looking into is Weleda. I've never tried any products from its combination line, but I love their Wild Rose line for dry skin. The price is also very affordable.

Welcome to the forum! I can't give you a whole regimen on natural products, but Dr Hauschka seems to be a board favorite. I've been using Suki's Lemongrass Cleanser. It's like a cleanser and exfoliater in one. I think the citric acid also helps as my skin feels very smooth after using it.

I'm learning that I need to remove my m/u first (currently using grapeseed oil), then (at nite only) I wash my face twice to make sure everything is removed.

I really liked the Epidermx 2 scrub (I think it's botanical). HTH Smile

Thanks!

I was using the Cosmedix (Benefit line) and ater a month my skin was super oily, and then I switched to the Cosmedix (Purifying line) and it was way too dry. I really had high hopes for the product and am really bummed.

So I went back to Suki and it seems that my skin is doing much better. The last time I used my Suki products they stopped working after awhile.

It looks like I will have to do some experimenting. I just would love to use an all natural line that actually works.
