I have a small area of altered pigmentation on the side of my nose and would love anyone to suggest a product that would help reduce this. It is definitely related to sun exposure over time but is not skin cancer - I've had it checked out! |

I bought the Priori mini kit for $20.00 from EDS, and I've been using Priori Even Tones for about a month now. I apply it twice a day, and I've noticed the lighter sun spots on my forehead have nearly faded. I have a darker patch down the side of my face which will take longer to fade. The mini kit also came with facial cleanser and a moisturizing cream that I haven't tried yet. |

Northerngirl - I'm really interested in Priori Even Tones myself, but I'm still researching. Do you only apply it to the pigmented area or do you apply it all over your face? Also, do you use any other products with it? Thanks! |

Hi - I massage the cream on the pigmented area only. I do this after cleansing and before moisturizing. |

Thanks for your reply, Northerngirl. I have some brown spots I've been trying to get rid of forever. I'm too afraid to try TCA cross, so I thought I'd go with Priori Even Tones instead. Do you think it'll be safe to use all over the face? How long did it take before you started seeing any fading at all? Also, how long did the bottle from the sample kit last you? Thanks again for your help. |

I'm interested in this subject since I've a few brown sun spots too unfortunately...
Read some rave about Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum. Have a sample, will try it out soon.
Products containing kojic acid, hydroquinone, azelaic acid have ligtening effect normally. I think that the Priori contains idebenone, which is a derived form of hydroquinone.
I'm looking for products other than those containing hydroquinone to fade my spots. Any suggestion will be helpful, thanks. |

I'm considering 3 products at the moment - Priori Even Tones, Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and Garden of Wisdom Light n' Brite Serum. They all seem to get good reviews, so I don't really know which one to go for! |

Just like to say that I once bought my mum the Caudalie serum and she said that whilst it did brighten her complexion, it did not fade her pigmentation. Also, the results of the brightening effect was only short-term, as when she finished the bottle, a week or two afterwards, her skintone was exactly the same as before she used the serum.
Another thing was that she had a time in between using the serum when she had to stop, as she suspected that it broke her out (my mum rarely gets pimples, maybe 3 a year!) because she hasnt added anything new into her regime. However, once her breakouts were healed, she continued usage and it was ok. |

yeahyeah - Thanks for your input. Now I'm gonna have to do more research on Caudalie Vinoperfect since you mentioned your mom had broken out from it. I'm seriously desperate to find a product that will brighten up my complexion AND fade pigmentation. Unfortunately, I can't go down the peeling road as my wedding is coming up soon and I can't afford to be experimenting with peels. |

I have been using the Priori since the 3rd week of October. I still have the bottle and there should be a lot left in it as I don't pump a lot out, just enough to cover the brown spots. I can't tell how much I have left as it's not a clear bottle. I think the sample size should last a while as I don't put it all over my face I only apply it on the "brown spots".
I noticed the lighter sun spots faded in about 2 1/2 weeks. The darker one that I have down the side of my face by my left ear will take a while to fade.
As for using it all over your face.... Do you mean applying it all over like a moisture? I personally wouldn't as I don't have brown spots everywhere just in certain spots on my skin. I would e-mail Kate at EDS and ask her this question.
If the brown spots really bother you, you may want to look into getting a photofacial.
Here's some info....

I've heard raves about the Caudalie Vinoperfect too. But there's a big price difference between that and the GoW and Priori stuff and there are raves about those too.
I'm going to start with the GoW stuff myself. |

Northerngirl - Thank you so much for your help. I think I'm gonna order the sample kit just to see if the product suits my skin. Also, from what you say, it seems like it's gonna last quite a while anyway if I only use it to spot treat. 2 1/2 weeks sound really promising.
k - I know there's such a big price difference between the 3 products. However, I'm at the point where I'm willing to spend $$$ to get good results! With GoW Light n' Brite, it was recommended to me by a fellow EDSer. However, she only mentioned overall brightening of complexion rather than fading of pigmentation. This is off topic, but do you use any products from GoW? All the products I've tried from GoW, I wasn't so impressed with. That's why I'm reluctant to order Light n' Brite although it's only $29. |

well, I can't reco the L&B yet, as I haven't tried it yet . . . it's on it's way.
But I am very very happy with the GoW Viper Venom and their hydrosols. I've also used their Emu Oil successfully for a radiation burn.
I totally know what you mean about spending the money for what works -- girl math, ya know. If $29 doesn't work then the $120 product is really only $90 since you saaaaaved money by buying not buying the $29 first, LOL.
For lightening,I am also thinking of getting an wack of Licorice active and putting it in everything. Not the most elegant solution but . . . |

Your welcome.
Just pump it very lightly because if you pump it to hard you get to much product and you might not use it all - a little goes a long way. Also, I use it in the morning after cleansing, etc, then again in the evening after I clean my face.
On another note - I received a Caudalie Vinopure Matte Finish Fluid sample a couple of months ago from EDS.
I really liked it. I personally would buy it as a summer moisturizer as it's nice and light, went on smoothly, and best of all smells really nice. |

I have been using Pevonia Botanica Lightening Gel for a couple of months and it really seems to be lightening my spots and it makes my skin looks more even and feel smoother. It seems like it would be good for most skin types (I'm more on the oily side) except really sensitive.
Ingredients: Water, Azelaic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Mulberry Extract, Arbutin, Glycerin, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Citrate, Methylisothiazolinone |

I suggest you use hydroquinone or kojic acid to reduce it. |
