Hi,
Last time I visited the USA I brought my T3 hair straighteners with me but found they didn't heatup properly in the USA due to the irons being designed for 240V and the US voltage being 110V.
Anyway I am visiting again in November and thought I might invest in some US spec straighteners. Can anyone recommend some decent straighteners (ie ones that work but won't fry my hair - I need temp control, GHD 210degrees is too hot for my fine hair, I usually set my T3s at 180.) they need to be reasonably priced too as I won't be using them except for holidays....oh and where I can get them (would like to get them before my trip so they need to sell to the UK).

Don't want much do I LOL!! Laughing

(I saw some mk1 HA irons on Ebay uk 110v - these any good? Still quite expensive though!!)
Shock
Please help - my hair was a mess last time, it couldn't cope with the soft and fluffy Florida water and went all fluffy too! - the UK water is HARD, think my hair went into shock Sad Laughing Laughing !!Thanks!

Lucia - US site Folica has a good range of irons, in 110 and 220 voltages, and even have a few dual voltage travel irons
http://www.folica.com/Dual_Volta_216_1.html

Their prices are quite good on the major brands (at least compared to Hong Kong, where I'm based), and they definitely do international shipping, as I’ve made a couple of orders in the past - can’t remember shipping cost though.

Sorry, can't recommend a specific US voltage iron, I'm using a GHD at the moment, but if you do find a good lightweight travel iron, keep us posted, as I’m in the market for one myself Smile

Thanks for that - will do.

I have some rechargeable travel irons but they are only really good for touching up a style rather than doing the whole lot of you see what I mean.

I will keep you posted if I find any decent travel irons though.

Thanks again
Very Happy

I really like my Chi straightner. I have tried many others..but the original Chi has been the best I have used.

Do all those travel voltage converters they sell help at all? I seem to recall frying my contacts in St Lucia and blowing up my hairdryer somewhere else, and sure wished I'd have thought of bringing one along.
My little cheapo iron says 120V- 240V on it. Do you spose it would work overseas? Provided I have the proper plugin adaptor.
