Forgive me mods for starting yet another Marini thread but due to the content I wanted to make sure this didn't get lost in the shuffle. If this should be in another forum, I apologize in advance. Those of you who know me, know that I've been rather disenchanted with JMSR over the handling of the situation with JMAIE and have been rather vocal about it. For this reason, I wanted to share a rather unusual experience I had today.

Yesterday, after reading another press release at JMSR I got angry and hit the contact us button. After filling out my information I proceeded to say my piece, as I'd done with Revitalash several days before. You can imagine my surprise when I answered my phone last evening to a woman who identified herself as Jan Marini's personal assistant. Shock She was calling to set up a time where Jan Marini herself could call me to discuss my concerns. Shock Soo, today at 4:00 EST I got a call from Jan Marini. She was most gracious and willing to answer any question I had. I think the lady deserves props for caring enough about her consumers that she is willing to call a cranky chick in the midwest during what has to be a demanding time for her business, let alone the day before a holiday. I'm impressed and more than willing to give my money to someone with a lot of grit and class. She willingly shared some inside information that she can't openly talk about and I am so impressed and wanted to share this with you as well. I think whether you've tried her products or not, whether they may not have worked for you, all of us can appreciate that this woman was basically a pioneer in skincare. I know I feel better about supporting JMSR after today.
I think in the next few weeks or so we are going to see some interesting information come out that will be eye opening, pardon the pun, to us.

I also wanted to mention that I received an email from RL today as well, it however, was more of a form letter with a somewhat condescending tone to it.

I am still in awe of this little experience!!

Ok, I'm feeling a little less shell shocked and am thinking clearer. Laughing I wanted to add a few things.

One, I'm more convinced than ever that eyelash products, such as JM and RL are safe. There is a new article/statement that I saw on the press page at RL, scroll to the bottom, and you will see where the FDA comes out and states there have been no reported damage to the eyes as they have theorized.

Secondly, JM received notice about the embargo and it took six months before the company was notified of the reason it was embargoed. Hence, the lack of information available to us. An interesting tidbit, when Jan was developing the original formula, her patent attornies told her to not put the formula out for the public, she used the "eyelash growth ???" *sorry, I've blanked the correct phrase* because she thought it was cute and was then a little surprised when she found out that that "cute" little term was the cause of all the brouhaha.

JM also told me that she has been somewhat hamstrung by what she can publicly say due to the advice of the legal eagles. I still have some questions on the handling of the situation but I have a better understanding of the process they've been going through.

I was wrong about RL reformulating. I'm pretty sure that havana nailed it when she theorized RL didn't change the formula but only the marketing labels.

There are two investigative reporters who are working on this story since the WSJ's article was published. The author of the WSJ talked to these reporters and told them something isn't adding up here. This should be interesting.

BluesHeart - What an interesting read. Am I correct, that in your opinion, it is safe for all of us to order from Jan Marini?

Blimey! That's certainly impressed me. I don't use the stuff, but for the woman herself to contact you about your concerns gives her major Brownie points.

Well done you, too.

Hi stovetop,
Taking a break from pie baking to answer you. Surprised
In my most nonprofessional opinion, if you were desiring to try the JM eyelash product, you would be safe doing so. I wish I had taken notes but she called my home number and not my cell phone and I had to get someone to the airport so I was a little rushed. She called me at 4 sharp and we talked until 4:20 and she would have kept talking. Very impressive. Please note, I've not used the new formula that debuted last February and there have been people here on the board who've had some redness, dryness and irritation but that was mentioned by almost all of the manufacturers as a possibility and something very different from what the FDA was referring to. JM assured me the products are safe, even RL's.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Allergan comes out with. Anyone want to take bets on price?

I'm curious what opinions you ladies have on the prior stance the Beauty Brains took on this subject. I have to admit that the best part of this entire situation for me was seeing that they were wrong. The above post looks as if they're maintaining a antagonistic stance.

Oh jeez, don't even get me started on the so-called beauty "brains." MY formal opinion is they started a site to make money selling ad space and have absolutely NO idea of what the heck they are talking about. When they first posted about JM, they said that they didn't work at all, and it was all just hype. They also fail to mention that it was the old batch that was seized, and the new seems to be safe. Someone in a comment asked if Revitalash was next, and they said it probably was. Eh?

Sorry for the rant, but....come on! At least do the research. How many of us have humungous lashes now? With pictures to prove it? But it didn't work. Rolling Eyes

Not sure if this should go here or not, but Revitalash never answered my email about the change in formula and it's been 10 days.
My old tube of RL had a sticker on it saying
SHAKE WELL BEFORE EACH USE, whereas the new tube I bought, doesn't mention shaking it at all! All of a sudden, you don't have to shake it? Is that because it's a different formula?
That's what I think, but of course, if they don't answer emails, no way we'll know!

My tube, which I've had since around March, does not have a sticker saying to shake it.

That's odd, cause I got mine in either February or March. I remember I was really careful to get the sticker back on my tube, so I'd remember to shake it.

Speaking for myself, I bought mine from a Rep here in the States. I'm pretty sure Yogi bought her's from the same person.
