My hair stylist was telling me about this 30-percent vitamin C serum by Reviderm that is supposed to blow away all other vitamin C treatments. Has anybody heard of it? Is it worth checking out? She said she started using it last month and her skin is just glowing!

30%! All I can say is OUCH!

I read somewhere that anything over 20% would be very irritating. Also, remember something about uptake of C via the skin is limited so going with high %s can be a waste. You might want to check the ph on this. Needs to be 3.5 or so to work and not aggravate your skin. When it's this high a percentage, it can go very high and then it's not effective. The only time I have ever seen 30% advertised was when the C was not L-ascorbic acid. The less effective forms often have to "pack it in" in order to achieve some results since uptake/absorption/stability can be poor with MAP, MAG, C-esters, etc.

Oooh....yeah, you're right. I wonder what form of vitamin C it is???? I thought that 30% seemed kind of high. I'll have to check up on it. What vitamin C treatment do you use Mabsy? Do you like it?
Thanks,
Padme

30%!!! BetterAt40 is right. Peak absorbsion is at 20% and starts to drop after that. Anything higher than that is probably just a marketing ploy. I would do as she suggested and find out what type of c it is, as that makes a world of difference.
