| Well I got my 2nd syringe of artefill today.I got my first syringe 2 weeks ago. The dr likes to layer it so you come back for each layer.It looks like I will bruise a little, but I dont think I need anymore, I have my nasal lines pretty filled up,they look so much better, I didnt have deep lines just depressed areas by my nasals,he built up the area and it looks so much better,its not perfect no,I am 53 but the depressed area is 85% gone and I think it looks very natural and I dont want to add anymore because I am afraid it might look too unnatural. My first syringe was 995,the second syringe was 950,thats a really good price.I am hoping to never have to get my nasals filled up again!It is amazing how correcting that one flaw can make you look so much younger. |

| Wow Lucy! Good for you! I've been thinking of getting my nasalabia FOLDS filled in, too. My question is, what is the difference between the artefill and collagen, resty,or juvaderm? Is the artefill supposed to last longer perhaps? Please let me know because I'm just about ready to find a good doctor! Thanks! |

| artefill is the only permanent wrinkle filler currently on the market.Many drs. are fighting it because it cuts into their "regular income" from patients that come in every couple months for fillers like resty that dont last. If youhave never had a filler before it is recommended that you FIRST try a filler that is not permanent like restylane just to see if you like the look,after that you can decide on whether you want a permanent filler. I HAD to do artefill because fillers like resty only lasted me a month,I could not afford to spend 1000 a month on fillers.Artefill has been legal in the US for a little less than a yr,however it has been safely used in Europe for over 10 yrs under the name artecol.Right now there are not a lot of drs who do artefill,you can find a surgeon trained in the proper technique by going to the co. website atwww.artefill.com.Please understand that a lot of drs. will try to dissuade you from doing this by saying its not safe(not true);they are trying to protect their repeat business income.Afterall in the longterm its a big loss of income for some drs. |

| You know, where I live, I can't find anyone who does Juvaderm let alone Artefill. I'm being told that Juvy is lumpier than Resty which is why they won't use the Juvaderm. Which is odd because when I searched for reviews online I heard the exact opposite. |

I think it is quite dangerous to advise people to disregard their doctors recommendation regarding their safety by assuming they are all scam artists unless they give you what you want. |

| Wow! Thanks so much for this information, Lucy! I had never heard of artefill before.. As far as I knew, the only filler that was permanent was your own body fat, and that was a very expensive surgical alternative. I'll definitely be checking into it. And when it comes to making money from any source, I do believe people will go any lengths (docs included)to keep the money pouring it. I have a very reputable dermatologist who I'm sure could advise me on the safety and efficacy of this filler.. Thanks again! |

| I think if you look at the evidence, artefill has been used safely for over 10 yrs in Europe.You need to do your own research,some drs have not even heard of artefill....and just because one dr says its not safe doesnt mean it is.I dont rely on any one dr for an opinion, the studies show it has been safely used for quite a long while. Drs. who told me it wasnt safe a yr ago I found out are now doing it.... Fat injections may or may not last and that can be very lumpy too.Most people I have talked to said the fat did not last and that can be very expensive. |

The trick is to find a doctor with experience at the technique. LucyLuc you must live in a bigger metropolitan area.
I've had various fillers and some lasted a month or two and the latest that I've had has lasted a lot longer (not restalyne but does begin with an R I think - more costly). I would love to try artefill. |

| I think you are thinking of radiesse(sometimes called radiance). I have had that too! That was actually the longest lasting filler for me it would last 6 months and then start to go down. It was painful too and it felt lumpy but it lasted a lot longer than resty or hylaform!Well,you can check on the co's website, they have a list of drs who are trained in artefill in your zipcode.If you live in the toolies it might be a real drive but I am sure in another year many more drs will be doing it. |

I am looking for a permanent solution for my tear trough hollows and wondering whether Artefill might be used in that area.
You also mentioned the fat injections....everything I've read so far seems to indicate that using your own body fat as a filler is the most natural looking and longest lasting choice...
But then again, there seems to be different kinds of procedures for this - fat transfer and fat repositioning?
From what I understand, with fat repositioning, they go in *underneath* the lid and move the fat from puffy eyelids down to add padding over the upper cheekbone - which to me seems different from moving a bit of fat from your butt up to your eyes.
This is all so confusing to me!

| Artefill is only approved for the nasolabial folds for now.I have heard of it used successfully in lips but you are not supposed to do that. Also a dr. who practices with my dr. was on the boards of artefill trials Ibelieve and he has successully rejuvenated a mans whole face with artefill...the nurse said it was amazing,the man looks like he has had a facelift....but its not approved for that. I had fat repositioning 2 yrs ago when I had surgery,I had my bags removed and the dr repositioned it in the tear troughs.Repositioning tends to last because it still has a blood supply and is merely pushed to another area.Fat grafting sometimes lasts sometimes doesnt last...I have seen some people who have been horribly disfigured by it too where it came out wrong and looked lumpy like marbles under the skin,I think the ket is to have a really experienced fat grafter,its also up to the individuals metabolism,some people absorb it or have to injected several times before it takes. |
