          | I have had acrylic nails forever. I want them off. I hate what my nails look like. What can I do to make them stronger. Any suggestions? |

          | ooh I feel your pain! I wore acrylic nails until about 6 years ago. I hated the way my nails looked! I started buffing them and treating with cuticle oils every night. By maintaining the natural look, my nails shortly became very shiny and started looking nice, pink and healthy but constant buffing can dry out your nails so I do apply nail polish over freshly buffed nails now.
I like Esse polish but I've heard OPI is very nice as well. Nail polish seems to protect them and I can let my nails grow a little longer. Then I'll let my nails go natural after a week of polish and alternate every week or so. I'll never go back to acrylics, never!

Just a warning; it'll take some time for your nails to start looking nice, it took me nearly a month when I first removed them. Yep, one month of trying to hide my hands [fortunately it was winter so I wore gloves whenever I could] before my yellow, flakey, ridge-filled nails looked truly nice but well worth it.

Hi! I had mine on for...forever it seemed like. Maybe 4 years? Anyway, they are off now, and here's what I did to get them back into shape.

1...Cuticle oil and massage my nail beds every night. Nailactin by Mavala is great.

2...eat lots of protein for growth!

3...Nail strengthener. I believe I used OPI (its been a while).

Basically, try and protect them as much as possible because they will be so thin.

 Good luck

          | Apparently hoof cream, sounds odd but I'm about to try it! Yes I know it's for horses but the Americans rave about it. Also infuse clear lacquer/nail varnish with a clove of crushed garlic let it rest for a week then apply every day. Smells horrid but does work and smell fades quickly after a shower.

 Good Luck
 Karen.

          | After I took mine off (too much negative data lately) I used Trind starter kit http://www.trind.ca/shop/product.php?pid=2 Within a month I was asked by my hairdresser who was doing my nails now, they looked that good. I'm thrilled! |
