Hi, I had Resty in March on my laugh lines on each side of my face.

I hate how it looks, it sort of looks like I have a worm on each side of my mouth and I hate it.

It's been almost 9 months and it's still there!!

Any suggestions on how to make it dissolve quicker??

I know that I could have Hyaluronidase injected to dissolve it, but most doctors don't recommend doing that because it might make your skin worse off.

Anyone know any tips to make it go away??!!!

Well now that's one heck of a problem. Most of us would love if our fiillers would last like that.

Gosh, I wish I could help you - I keep hearing how certain products make it go away quicker but I dont even know what they are. Good luck. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.

Hi, I wish my Resty had lasted half as long as yours. Mine just got absorbed into the skin so quickly. Anyway, initially I did have some lumpiness and the doc had told me to rub the area gently to make it spread out and it worked!

.... Speaking of Resty, I had thought that you could only have them injected into your lips. I didn't know that it could be used to fill our lines on our faces. I LOVE this forum that I find out so much! Exclamation Very Happy

I hope it subsides eventually for you s31pr... how long is it suppose to last for? From what Starlight says, I gather our bodies' absorbs it differently.

Just curious to know has anyone actually had experience with Restylane in their lips ? or are we all happy with the Lip Fusion XL ... Very Happy

I had Resty in my naso-labial folds once and I remember the Doc injecting the same spot twice...and thinking "why did he do that??" well, I had a very visible ridge there for more than a year. I'm kind of thinned skinned anyway, so I think injectables sometimes pop out more. Like you, I hated it, but honestly, I don't think anyone else noticed it. Unfortunately there is no way to get rid of it...just time will make it dissapate. Hang in there. This will pass. (BTW, I never had Resty again after my experience.)

I had resty in my lips and it looked nice but lasted onlyabout 10 weeks. Not worth the cost in my opinion.

Beeb - Maybe try Perlane for lip volume? It’s made by the same company as Restylane, the same stuff, but it’s supposedly a larger molecule size, so it lasts longer and is better for creating volume. I don’t know if it’s available in the States or if it goes under a different trade name there.

I’ve had my lips done a few times with Perlane, as I had some stitches in my lower lip after an accident, which left a slight depression on one side which I wanted to fill out. I get the doc to put what’s left in the syringe in the rest of my lips, but just a little to even things out, as the big lip look wouldn’t suit me - I have a tiny head Smile

Perlane lasts a long time, for me anyway. I last had it done early this year, maybe Feb, and still don’t need a touch-up. I read somewhere that recent research indicates that the more times you have this done the longer it lasts and the less often you need to get jabbed.

I’ve also had Hylaform Plus (the larger molecule version of Hylaform) for the same purpose, maybe 3 times, and in my experience Perlane lasts MUCH longer, although the post-injection swelling is greater and lasts longer with Perlane. I also had much more bruising with the HylaformPlus, but that could just reflect greater skill on the part of the Perlane injector. I have never had a single bruise on my lips after Perlane, and I’ve had it done 3 or 4 times. The woman who does my Perlane is amazing, has an excellent eye and creates perfect symmetry out of my less than perfect lips.

S31pr - I don’t know how to make the Restylane absorb/disappear quicker, but as Starlight commented, you can rub/massage it to distribute it more evenly, but that might not work if it’s been in there since March. Good luck and hope your worms disappear soon.

Appletini--are you in canada. I live in Vancouver and I'm looking for a good injector. (doesn't that sound weird--I'm looking for a good injector...)

Mine botox lady recommended perlane for my NLFs.

beeb - sorry, my expert Perlane injector is in Hong Kong, like me. But I know what you mean, a good injector needs artistic ability as well as the medical/technical skills. It's all very well to be able to stick a syringe in someone's mouth, but to get a nice symmetrical result is another thing entirely. Especially when working on my lips, which have been through a car windshield, fallen on concrete steps, etc. I'm a bit accident-prone ...

Oh, and what are NLFs? Is that the nasio-labial thing? I thought Restylane was better for that area than Perlane?

I have had Perlane, resty and the newest one Teosyl in my lips with good results lasting 4-6 months. Waiting for my lips 2 kiss system so that I can avoid the pain and expense. I hated the freezing so I would decline it. I had my NlF done with either resty or dermalive, it was lumpy for about a month but now it looks great and is supposed to last up to 2 years! I am in Vancouver Canada
