Tangal, I hope you are still hanging around because I have been searching and searching for some answers and you seem so knowledgable about skin actives.
Also, if anyone else has any input I am greatly appreciative! Very Happy

I am wondering how to use these ingredients/products in a regimen:

*10% glycolic/salicylic toner ph 3.2 (in witch hazel/propolyne glycol- not alcohol)
*2% salicylic gel (witch hazel/glycerin base)
*12% l-ascorbic acid serum (make myself with hyaluronic acid)
*Skin Biology copper peptide serum
*Avene Diacneal (1% retinaldehyde, 6% glycolic acid)- a retin-a alternative which was really harsh for me

I know that the vitamin c and copper have to be 12 hours apart in application so I was doing vitamin c in the morning and copper at night. I just don't know how to add the Diacneal. Can I still use copper before or after it? Also in the morning is it ok for me to use my toner and BHA gel before the vitamin c or will the glycerin/propylene glycol inhibit absorbtion?
Also I'm guessing I should not use the glycolic toner at night as the diacneal already contains glycolic for absorption.

I have combination skin on the dry side in the winter, I'm a fair redhead with a lot of hyperpigmentation I'm trying to get rid of. I have a tendency to blackheads, large pores despite my overall dryness.

I would also like to add kojic acid/arbutin as a lightener but am not sure where that would in the regimen.

Any advice? Very Happy

I've been reading and reading- whew! But what fun! I've found so many great DIY recipes- thanks everyone!! Such a generous, lovely group Cool
Anyway, I've read (can not remember where of course- I just write down notes while reading)

*vitamin c serum should be applied before glycolic acid which will increase absorption

*kojic acid should be applied before retinol

*copper penetrates best with salicylic-BHA

I've used the Diacneal once now. I put it on after the copper, figuring serum then cream would work best. So far so good! The diacneal did tingle a bit but I woke up with no redness, just some flaky skin that I lightly epidermx'd off. I just love epidermx, wish I could make it- hmm, something to think about. Well, any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.
Laura

Just thought I'd add another question. Everyone out there who uses retinol/retin-a/retinaldehyde, bha, or aha, what do you use to get rid of the flakes? I've found that my skin is turning over more now and I wake up to some flaky skin. I'm not sure if I'm being too harsh to my skin by using Epidermx? What do you use? Cool
