I only apply a very light coating - dipping the brush into the pearl powder just at the tip of the brush. I am also using products which have pearl powder already in them. |

I use a kabuki brush to apply a silk/pearl powder mixture.
I recently purchased some pearl powder from GOW - does anyone know how I can refine the texture to use as a primer powder? I used it in a DIY pearl paste and the texture is perfect, but too gritty for use as primer powder.
TIA! |

I pour a bit of jojoba oil into the palms of my hand and add some pearl powder and mix them together then apply that onto my face.
I did use a brush to apply the powder but I couldnt be bothered washing yet another brush and mixing it with the jojoba oil is the easiest and fuss-free method! |

i just simply mixed the powder + water, and I see that it sinks in my enlarged pores and it won't wash off easily, so you guys do not have this issue when mixing with oils instead? |

Hi bciw
I used to use home-based companies pearl cream and with those, they recommend you to apply the pearl cream onto moist face or by adding water to the product. Like you, I sometimes noticed that the pearl cream just sat on the face. However, now that I have my own pearl powder, when mixed with jojoba oil, I find that it doesnt leave a film on my skin and is fully absorbed.

The pearl powder I just bought from GOW seems different than pearl powders I've used in the past. Usually I can mix the powder with water in the cup of my hand and apply the paste as needed. This GOW pearl powder turns into a hard substance that quickly solidifies on my finger as I'm mixing it (kind of like glue). I've tried mixing it in a little dish and it just adheres to the side of the dish. What am I doing wrong? Am I not supposed to use water with GOW pearl powder? |

I believe there are two type of pearl powder. One that dissolves in water and the other to be used dry. Maybe you have the wrong one. |

Hi ammawamma
I agree with xtaski that there are two types of pearl powder- micronised and hydrolised. I only know of this when I recently purchased from tkb trading at:

Pearl powder sounds interesting. Is there a benefit for using it or is it for a pearly glow? (sorry if this is answered elsewhere) |

Mortar and pestle. Then mix with Arrowroot powder, to the pearliness/softness balance that you like.
