I tend not to wear a foundation as I think it can make me look older. What have you ladies found to be a good foundation for mature skin? Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Winnie

One's foundation is meant to enhance their skin. The key to achieving this, of course, is by maintaining a good skincare regime first! Otherwise, no foundation will look-good! If you would like some suggestions regarding skincare, please do not hesitate to ask! Very Happy

The best foundations that we sell for mature skin are the Sothys Lift Defense Foundation, as well as the Orlane B-21 Treatment Make-up. Perhaps the next time you place an order with EDS, you may request samples of these products, and our shipping dept. will do their best to fill these requests. I know that Sothys does offer samples of the Lift Defense foundation, but am unsure of the availability of Orlane samples.

Thank you. I am on a good skincare routine. Just have found as I get older I look better without foundation.

I am going to check the products you mentioned. Thanks so much for you suggestions.

I totally agree with you Winnie. An overly made up face DOES make you look older. I do not like that dry, powdered, matte look I see on older women. I like more of a dewy, moist look.

I am soon to be 50 and haven't used foundation since my mid 40s. One day I was in a dept store and you know the lighting is never flattering! I saw my reflection in a mirror and I was just appalled at the way I looked!! That was it, no more foundation!

All I use is a good concealer where I need it the most. And now I look 100% better!

Thanks SusieQ. Glad I am not alone on this subject. I am 59....with well taken care of skin. I have smooth blemish free skin with no age spots and very few lines. Just seems that when I wear makeup I see lines that I never saw before.

When I worked in skincare salon I always made myself up. We carried JI products. Love their lipstick, eyeliner, blush etc. But, I felt that the powder made me look older. Maybe I just like that outdoor look. I have a drawer full of JI products. Now I understand they have a liquid makeup. Just might have to stop by the salon and try it.

Anyway, if anyone finds a foundation they love and feel the same way we do I hope they will reply.

I agree, Winnie. The older I get, the less I want to use foundation and powder. Especially powder. It seems to really age me. I just sampled this new Cover Girl TruBlend foundation that disappeared into my skin and did not leave a matte/dry finish. I think it might actually be what I need. Evens my skin tone out without leaving me looking like I have "make-up" on.....the website was giving away the samples. Cover Girl TruBlend was the name of the foundation.

I was wondering if either of you have used the mineral powder bases like Bare Escentuals or Jane Iredale?

Those have seemed to give me a very light finish that didn't settle into lines, but wondered if you feel this liquid foundation gives you a better look than BE or JI. I'm sure the price is quite a bit less!

Hi Judy,

I have a draw full of JI products. Working in the salon for years I got everything at cost. I found I did not need the coverage of JI. Loved her pencils, blush, eye shadows etc.

Yes, I like a light liquid much better.

Thinking of going to the salon tomorrow to try JI new liquid foundation.

Let me know what you think. Would the liquid have the same light diffusing properties of the minerals like the base and powder do? It would seem to me that helps cause lines and wrinkles seem less evident.

I look terrible in the mineral make-ups, Judy. I just can't wear them. I look like I applied some sort of mask to my face....I think my skin is too dry for them (or they dry it out). I'm a liquid girl for sure!

What about a tinted moisturizer!!!! I love Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisture in Light for my skin tone.

This is in a lavender base and just feels like heaven on your skin. Gives you a beautiful glow, a hint of color and SPF 15.
A really great alternative to foundation.

Oh Miss Shoes....

I would give anything if I could just use a tinted moisturizer, but alas, my age spots have to be covered and I'm afraid that a tinted moisturizer won't do it. Sad

Going to the spa and researching all the JI options. Anxious
