Had my first Cool Touch III Laser today. The derm said you don't see results until after 2-3 sessions and it takes at least 3 months for the first results and forms collagen up to 18 months. It was a cheap enough session (200.00 per session) compared to Fraxel and IPL's and not nearly as painful compared to them. It felt like a slight burn in places but my skin is very dry and chapped right now after just returning from a ski trip. They used the Kinerase rejuvenating mask and rehydrating night cream after, which felt awesome.
Has anyone else tried it and have any results to compare? |

Hey there Annie, sorry to hijack this thread but I wanted to ask you about this. This is a non-ablative laser? My doc recommended a Sciton peel, I wonder how that is different. So far how's the recovery coming along? Hope you are healing well. |

Non-ablative Laser with NO DOWNTIME AT ALL! I am so loving that part. A little bit of pain and a teeny bit of redness, that's it. My skin looks tighter but I have at least 3 more times to go before significant result. I was also informed that it takes 3 months of cellular turnover to tighten the dermis and fibrous tissue, so I will post back in that time frame to let everyone know if it worked or not.
My derm also recommends periodic peels but I haven't heard of the Sciton. I wonder if it's like a deeper TCA or what?
(I love your screen name. I also go by Faith&Hope on my real Estate & misc. Forums and almost did that here.) |

Thanks No downtime is always wonderful. What results are you eventually expecting after 3 more sessions? Tightening?
I just checked again today and the Sciton is non-ablative too, but my doc wants me to try to use retinoids and blue light to stop active acne first before we do the laser peel. |

Hopefully, tightening and less noticeable wrinkles so we'll see! |

Hi AnnieR,
Please keep us posted as to your final results. I don't know if you'd see a huge improvement though. From the picture of you I saw from the NY Times article, you looked awesome already. I am not sure where you could improve, but heck, if you said it works, I'll buy it. |

You are too sweet. You know, I have already noticed an improvement as my skin got really stressed for a while and it has helped it plump up. I have been in the process of moving my son and ourselves to a new town since Sept. 1rst. Between the house hunting and eating fast food crap, I had not been using my baby Q, using IS Clinical Proheal or Super Serum, taking my supplements, sleeping well or exercising at my regular pace and it showed. Then I got dried out from heater head and not drinking enough water on a family New Year's ski trip and that put me over the top so I went back to the med spa for help. I am trying to reverse all the stress damage (way too old to buy & sell 4 homes in a year) so I am back to using my Baby Q every 3rd night (it's helping) and trying Cool Touch. I am using the TNS Recovery complex and Super Serum along with Kinerase Moisturizing mask at night. I'll go for another IPL in a week or so to help with rosacea flare ups and red spots from breakouts. I will do another Cool Touch at the end of the month and report back. It's better, but a lesson to not let it get that far out of control at my age as it is hard to reverse, and it only takes a month or so for the damage to show. Whew, you young people are lucky to have resiliant skin! |

Had my next installment 2 days ago and I love it! I can really see some tightening going on so I can't wait for the next 3-4 weeks to be up so I can do the third one. They say it takes up to the 2nd or 3rd and at least 3 months to really see improvement, but I can see hints of what's to come already. |
