Maybe she was one of the people over there that was planning on re-sharpening her dermaroller with an emery board. I would personally NOT recommend that. |

oh good ness, pre and post OPS for WHAT at age 28? I'm, curious!
Also, I would never go to that forum; it sounds very clique-y.
But as a disclaimer, CPs seem to work for SOME people, it seems to me that with all the other options out there, what they do isn't THAT life-altering, so why take the cahnces of ruining your skin?

and re: peels; I think we now see how some celebrities who have peeled their skin aggressively look worse as they age (like Renee Zellweger and Nicole Kidman). It's a delicate balance. Your skin looks amazing right after a peel, but you are essentially thinning the dermis, which means less support, less collagen, and less protection against skin problems. I've come around to believe that peels should be sporadic, and only when the skin is "dull."

May I ask you to describe the Advanced "line" of products you use? Are they Osea products? |

Advanced Smoothing Complex is a "Nude" cosmetics item:

advanced smoothing complex
15ml
£46.98
essential renewal serum for all skins.
natural peptides stimulate collagen production and firm for visibly smoother skin whilst hyaluronic acid locks in water to hydrate and reduce the appearance of fine lines. vitamin A from buriti, vitamin C from acerola, vitamin E from lingonberry and powerfully antioxidant CoQ10 protect against the signs of ageing and free radical attack.
with natural probiotics. |
I was totally in love with it for summer but it didn't perform miracles during a chicago winter... but, just about no product can!

I've only read the last couple of pages of this thread. Very interesting read at that.
Avalange - your theory was one that caught my eye. I think it makes some sense to not use the CPs if you don't need them - ie: as an 'anti-aging' product. However, I don't go along w/ the large pore theory.
I actually had the opposite happen to me - my pores got much smaller. Esp on areas where a blemish was healing - those pores would be smooth as ever. I had an especially large blemish that I applied Super Cop2X on and the skin there is so much smoother than the rest of my skin. I've also noted other pores getting smaller on me. So, I don't agree w/ the 'CPs causing larger pores' theory.
And to reply as to whether to stop CPs or not, I have to report that they have really given good results for me. I had not done much for 'anti-aging' until I hit my mid 40's, then tried some other products which did no good (or worse) for me. CPs have definitely done me good. I saw improvement in the elasticity of my skin, blemishes fade or heal much faster, skin tags fall right off, very bad tissue like upper eyelids tightened up nicely. And the texture of my neck improved immensely-less crepiness to it and the 'bands' fading as well. Also using CPs in conjunction w/ retinoids helps to calm the irritation you can get from them.
CPs don't work for everyone. They do bring out some bad skin while replacing that with 'remodeled' skin, so going thru that process can be too much for some ppl. Going thru that process too fast is what's called the uglies and a lot of ppl don't have the patience for it. |

Hi Foxe,
This is indeed a fantastic thread, some positives, some negatives. Having read it, i would proceed with caution wrt CPs. However, you mention there is a time period during which 'replacement of a new 'remodelled' skin takes place. How long, approx, should this take. |
