I just tried out a tester of this and compared it to my old Dr. Hauschka cover stick which I had in my purse. Some observations:
1) The coloring is exactly the same, at least for the 01 shade. And I mean, exactly.
2) The smell is exactly the same.
3) The consistency is exactly the same.
4) The coverage is exactly the same.
5) Seriously, I swear it's the same product with a new name and package.
6) On their website, it says that this new Pure Care Cover Stick is replacing the old cover stick. Just FYI in case anyone cares.
7) And yeah, I still can't use either one. Just wrong on my skin tone. Ah well, the search continues! |

It's just the wrong shade on me. Slightly too pale and slightly too pink, so it actually highlights my acne more than it conceals it! And of course, I'm too light for the next darker shade.
That's the trouble with companies that only make two or three shades of concealers -- I can see how that works for people who wear makeup over their concealer, but I usually do concealer on otherwise bare skin, so I need it to really be a PERFECT match to my skin tone.
I actually just got an array of different concealer colors from Everyday Minerals that I'm going to use as a palette. That way I can mix and match and make sure it's a really good shade for me. |

I've been using Dr. H concealer stick and while it's not an exact match for my skintone, I get around that by applying it to any blemishes, then use a fine brush to blend out the edges. Let dry for a couple minutes, then tap my MMU on top of it to make it blend in with my skin; works great and I like feeling like I'm not contributing to breakouts by using another concealer that won't offer any kind of healing properties. My skintone is comparable to more neutral version of MAC NW25, so I'm definitely not as light as these concealers |
