Hi everyone! I recently bought a body/bath oil and was told that it would be great for my face. I have sensitive acne-prone skin and am trying to clean up my skin care items so they are as basic and natural as possible.
The ingredients are: Sunflower Oil, Apricot Kernel oil, Jojoba oil, sweet orange essential oil, lavender essential oil, and ylang ylang essential oil. Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Erin

Dermalogical Special Cleansing Gel gets consistent, great reviews on EDS. This product is especially suited for sensitive, acne prone skin. You will get a lot of wonderful advice from EDS members. Smile

i like to use silkia camellia oil at night instead of mositurizer most of the time and it works well i even use on the under eye area and skin looks nice in the morning including under eye area.

i picked this oil as i read it is the most compatible with the skin and will absorb well Exclamation And from experience id say this is true.

Camellia is good, but high oleic sunflower is slightly better, and Macadamia Oil is the very best, when you are looking for skin compatibility. Macadamia Oil has an extremely similar fatty acid profile to the skin and therefore is readily absorbed and does not clog pores, cause irritation or flair up any acne. Camellia does have a similar fatty acid profile to skin but it is slightly higher in Linoleic Acid which could possibly cause it to go rancid over time. Regular sunflower oil could also be subject to oxidation as described in a previous post in this thread. But, High Oleic Sunflower is over 90% Oleic and has far less than 5% polyunsaturated fatty acids which means it is NOT susceptable to oxidation and will not turn rancid.

I have an Excel Spreadsheet covering various oils as compared to the fatty acid profile of the skin. If anyone is interested in this file, send me an e-mail to neveroverthehill@live.com and I will attach it. I tried to paste it to this post but the table got jumbled up and I was unable to get it into a presentable format.

John

I'm sorry I wasn't more clear in my original post but I was thinkgin of this oil as more of a moisturizer than a cleanser. I did try it out last night and this morning and it definitely did not make me shiny or greasy (very good sign for me). I'm sick of using moisturizers with so many chemicals in them and after switching to Pears soap I am trying to take a note from women throughout history and hoping to use things as basic as possible. Thanks for all the comments!

Emu oil is fabulous. I have acne prone skin myself and don't have any problems with it.
