I am making a 10% C serum with glycerin and distilled water but if I add more Vit C than the recipe calls for, it won't dissolve. How do I "up" the percentage? |

Here's carekate's recipe for vit C serum...She states it takes a while to dissolve.

I also saw a recipe somewhere (can't find it now), that said to heat the distilled water, then add Vit C, and after it dissolves add the glycerin..
Are you using powder or crystal C? |

I'm using the L-Ascorbic acid crystals.Do you think that makes a difference? CareKate says to use either. She doesn't mention in her recipes, what the % is...or maybe I missed that. I'll try heating the distilled H2O. Thanks! |

I just ordered a bunch of goodies from http://www.thepersonalformulator.com to make my own creams, serums etc.. I haven't made a vitamin C serum yet, but plan to this time.. I'll let you know how it turns out.
I usually order my ingredients from http://www.cellbone.com They also have a few pointers on that site for DIY's.
