Hi!
I`m new to this forum and first of all would like to thank you all ladies for all the useful info I found here. it is sooo helpful!!

so the question is - as Remergent DNA repair is intended for recovering sun-damaged skin, how long is it supposed to be used for its effect?
I mean - you`re using it for some time, you skin "recovers", then you quit? or you`re supposed to use it long or forever or what?
and does your skin "adaptate" to it so does not react to the treatment anymore after some time?
TIA

Not a Guru, but I have used it for over a year. I think it's something that one uses long term.
It has done wonders for my complexion and I don't mind spending the money as I can see the results in softness, glow and improvement in wrinkles and sunspots and so can others, as they comment on how good my skin looks.
That said, I give my skin a break from it one day a week, sometimes longer, like a few days, as it seems to respond again better after a few days of vitamin C or essential oil of some kind.
I don't know about "forever" as you mention. I plan to use it until something even better comes along as it surely will in time... As someone wrote recently, Remergent has some new products in the works and I am anxious to try some of those, too. Let us know how it works for you, okay?

thank you existential lady and congratulations on your success!!!
improvement in wrinkles - oh! sounds sooo tempting!! Rolling Eyes
can I use it under the eyes to improve under-eye wrinkles? they are quite tiny yet, but I hate them already! Mad
In fact, I`m still planning starting to use it, and as I`d like to make the most of it, I`m trying to develop some kind of a "strategy". - for example - will the skin be more responsive to the Remergent treatment after doing some AHA/BHA peels? or should I use Remergent for some time and then switch to retinoids? what do you think?

Your idea of giving your skin a break for a day or a few sounds VERY reasonable - I`m afraid that despite the most effective treatment, skin gets used to it with time and becomes less responsive.

as far as it concerns new Remergent products, they seem to be new retinoid products.
are they supposed to be more effective than DNA reppair?

When I first started using Remergent products (which is probably nearly 2 years now) I initially asked which other products would enhance them (eg Vit C, retinol, aha etc) I was told that the only other product that would enhance the effect was a retinol product.
I think the repair of dna is an ongoing issue because of our lifestyles. So the use of Remergent products should also be ongoing.
The most significant benefit from these products is healthy skin.

thank you, Bushy!
and how is a retinol product supposed to be used to enhance the effect od Remergent? - should it be used together with DNA Repair? after/before? - or by turns, to say, 2-3 months Remergent, then 2-3 months retinol? - or one in AM and the other in PM ?
are you using some retinol product?
and probably you know - are these new retinol products by Remergent supposed to be used with DNA repair, and if yes - how?

Aiva, we will all have to wait until Remergent releases their retinol product to be certain of how it is to be used. Normally an otc retinol product would be used on clean skin after cleansing. Then DNA Repair would be applied over the top. Most retinol products are only applied in the pm as they can make the skin more sensitive to the sun. During the day, a sunscreen must be applied.

should there be some waiting time between applying retinol product and DNA Repair?

some retinol products are said to be applied on their own... Confused

You should follow the instructions for the particular retinol product as there are many retinol variations and therefore, application will also vary.

bushy, perhaps you know what year Remergent came out? It has really been bothering me that after saying that we need the DNA Repair once a day, suddenly we need twice as much. How come? Did they reduce the vital ingredients to half and start cutting corners to increase profits? I had already noticed that it wasn't quite as effective as it had been before they started to put the little card in. I thought that maybe my skin was getting used to it. So now we have to buy it twice as often. I DON'T LIKE THIS. Do you have any answers and is anyone else wondering?

I emailed the company & got a response within the hour. Apparently, nothing at all has changed. It's just that you get quicker results with 2X a day use. This is only a recommendation, according to the email. I guess people were complaining about a lack of results ( myself included). They are probably right, but I would sure go through the bottle rather quickly..too quickly to make it affordable.

I think they originally formulated the products to be used as treatments with products from other lines. The introduction of a card with specific routines for am and pm with just their own products seems to indicate they want to establish a skincare routine just using their own products and this is probably backed up by their introduction of a cleanser and retinol product. The response that Marina received indicates their desire for users to see results in shorter periods of time.
I have always believed that the products work but do take time.

If anyone is science orientated, I found this article on their research into collagen production. It is quite interesting, although I don't fully understand it all, it does seem like they are on track to find a scientific way to increase collagen.

I came across another article which is similar to the one I posted above but possibly explained in a slightly different way.
