yes, i tried the ocm, and do it maybe once a week. when i did it everyday, even with slick olive oil/or saff oil/avocado oil, i felt like i was peeling my skin off. i was very red and skin was thin from only 3-4 days of it. i saw a big difference in my pores though... they were all clean.
i have crappy skin! now i'm using gentle cleansers and have blackheads but no irritation. |
Maybe this can help
You might have better luck with straight Jojoba as some find Castor Oil quite irritating especially for sensitive skin! You also need to be sure none of the oils you are using aren't causing you contact dermatitis, one poster actually was allergic to Avocado Oil. Jojoba is very similar to our natural oils! I also don't massage to vigorously or long except a couple of times a week!
Just a thought!

When my skin starts getting a little drier in the winter, I switch between jojoba oil (already mentioned) and Janson Beckett's organic cleansing milk.
When I first tried JB cleansing milk, I didn't really like it because it left a slight film on my face. It still does, but I continue to reorder it not only because it effectively removes makeup, but it's gentle enough to use around the eyes as well. It also smells wonderful! Follow up with their toner.
Lovely ingredients listed below. Here's a link for more info.http://www.janson-beckett.com/store_fld/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=261
Steam distilled water, certified organic floral water of lavender, red raspberry, certified organic herbs of angelica, chamomile, ginger, hibiscus, sage, thyme, certified organic aloe vera, sunflower oil, vegetable decyl glucoside, vegetable cetcaryl glucoside, vegetable glyceryl stearate, shea butter, vegetable glycerine, cetearyl alcohol, cetearth-20, xanthan gum, caprylic acid, glycine, lavender oil, geranium oil, tocopherol (natural vitamin E), lecithin, (soy), ester Vitamin C, potassium sorbate, methylparaben, propylparaben. |

thank you DM, my angel.
i will look more into it tonight. thank you. i'm sure there's something wrong with my skin... just in the past few years i got really dry thin skin and rosacea! what the heck?
and my skin is so sensitive and was causing me so much pain that that nothing helped. i was frantically searching on the internet when i found EDS.
i found that the valmonts have really been helping... and when EDS sends nice smelly samples, i stick it on my face, only to regret it. decleor, claudie, and eminence cause me pain and hurts my skin. (sorry, i'm working now and i have to be like 007)
but thank you. i'm going to read up on that tonight. |

llina,
You are too sweet! 007 LOL!
You might have developed a sensitivity to the fragrances in the cosmetics, it's more common than one might think! Here is a link to one very good supplier of fragrance free skin care as well as shampoo, body products ect. You can always add the actives you choose if you like! Just might be worth a try to see if that is the sudden issue as sensitivities can appear out of the blue at any time!

Hello Sweetie!
I never used the IS clinical line I understand you are supposed to have a skin care specialist address your specific issues and then they recommend a specific regime for each individual! I am lucky to have disgustingly normal skin without sensitivites!
I have a link for you it reviews both the pros and cons of the line!

I've recently been using Karin Herzog Cleansing Cream. Its in a squeeze bottle and I use a pea size amount. Its basically a thick translucent goo - appetizing right? But I rub it across my finger tips until it warms up and is spreadable. Use it to remove everything including eye makeup (day stuff not full on night out) and it works really well. Its tough to take off but I bought Body Shop Cleansing Cloths which I think are the same think that Karin Herzog offers (when they dry they stiffen but add water and it becomes silky). I spread the cloth around and it takes off all the cream leaving my skin cleaned, and fresh looking.
I used to use OCM but I like this product. Only downside is that it is a bit of a process to use so on the nights that I'm tuckered out I have to push myself to wash my face.
Also you can buy it on EDS. |

Burt's Bees Soap Bark Cream Cleanser is fantastic. I do not recommend it if you have sensitive skin, but otherwise it's fabulous. Takes off makeup well and cleans without stripping.
Just wonderful. |

I feel like a broken record - but in a written sense - but I just have to share!
I find that the gentle cleansers don't really clean the skin properly when you have makeup and/or sunscreen on. With my skin, it is really important that my pores are clean otherwise I end up with dreaded acne.
What I've found works best for my skin is a gentle cleanser plus a physical cleansing method (ie my ultrasonic brush) are a match made in heaven.
I finally have my skin under control! Horray! Just thought I'd share. |

I actually like it when some of these old threads are revived, even if for the wrong reason.
Chizu Saeki says that older skin (I qualify) needs a cream cleanser. So I'm on the hunt for one. I'll take a look at the Burt's Bees Soap Bark Cream Cleanser, because I do like Burt's Bees products.
I'm a bit of a cleanser affectionado, so I have a number sitting on my counter that I rotate. I doubt if I could ever stick with just one. |

I can so relate to that Skippie, Even using OCM I find at times I like to actually wash and have a major collection of different brands lined up on the bathroom counter!
We really are product junkies!
