i used to wax on the face area probably about 4-5 years ago.....brow i had it waxed once..
but i personally think waxing shudnt be done on the face cause of all the pulling you may actually be causing the skin to sag and become looose....which is like a big no no.
what i am getting done instead now is electrolysis for a permanant solution and im nearly there to being fully completed and permanant ......... now permanant brows thats mroe like it not having to worry about the shape ever again let alone making it too thin. ALthough if you are going for a permanant solution....for the brow area especially youd better go to someone who knows what they are doing i.e. not only a beauty therapist who does brows but also experience electrologist |

I use the Surgiwax system which includes large and small wax-filled rollers plus a heating unit. This wax does a great job with no mess. I used to use sugar waxes that you heat in the microwave but always ended up with a mess to clean up plus it didn't do a very good job of removing the hair. I like the Surgiwax much better. |

yes it is very messy and you have to be VERY careful when you apply it especially around the eyebrows.I would like to try one that is less messy I may look into the surgiwax. |

I have used Nads and Surgiwax for my upperlip about once a month. Nads is a natural, sugar like wax. |

I have found Smooth Appeal facial hair remover (microwave formula) works well and being microwavable is ready to use really quickly and also not too messy, but wouldn't attempt to wax my brows myself - have you tried threading its really effective |

I use Andrea brazilian was for my chin area. The wax dries fast and then you just pull it off, no cloths required. |

I had my brows waxed when I was getting a facial and my skin ripped off
I did not mention that I used retin-a..and she said that was the cause of the skin ripping off...YIKES...I won't be doing that again

I would highly recommend against waxing your eyebrows and face in general. I am a skin specialist and have learnt that waxing the lower eyebrow causes extreme drooping eventually. Similar results are seen when waxing around the mouth. If you are going to wax anyway I would use Depileve Pearl Wax. It is the best. But my overall recommendation is to seek alternative hair removal treatments. The skin on your face is so sensitive....spend the extra money to remove the hair permanently. |

I agree waxing the brows is not a good idea. I would try alternative methods like plucking or even threading. Also, if you get a professional wax make sure they are using clean wax each and every time. There are so many people that get infections from salons that are not using clean wax and/or sticks/spoons.
I agree if you can invest in permanent treatments go for it. I have had laser treatments for my underarms, bikini line, and legs... it was the best investment I have ever made. There are a few hairs here and there, but overall my skin is smoother since I no longer irritate the skin by shaving. However, the results vary based on your skin and hair types. If you have dark hair and lighter skin that is the ideal. They do have new lasers that work for dark skin and blond/red hair but I am not sure about the results. My facial hair is fair and like peach fuzz, so that doesn't catch the laser as well and wasn't worth it. It does cost a lot of money and time. It took me over a year and half to finish all 6 treatments, for each area. |

I have not heard of removing permanently eyebrow hair, to shape eyebrows. It is too close to the eyes... Are there ways to shape eyebrows by removing extra hair permanently??? |

yes electrolysis BUT its expensive, painful, can leave hyperpigmentation or scarring...also I didnt know this when I got electrolysis in the beginning but yes electrolysis will kill the root but in the pore there are potential new hairs lying dormant waiting to come up....so you have to get a lot of treatments to see any difference in the long run. I think its easier to wax,and a lot cheaper. |

I've been having my eyebrows waxed for a long time....many years. I'd also like to look into threading...a lot of people have had nothing but good to say about it. Mpstat, what does it typically cost? |

I pay $10 which is reasonable

... I pay $10 for threading and can not be happier. An Indian friend of mine who goes to places where predominantly Indian people in the area go says that she gets eyebrow shaped for $6 (and I love her eyebrows! ) and she thinks that I am paying too much. For what I am getting I would not mind spending more, I really like the threading result , my eyebrow girl threads, shapes, and trims.... |
There is a thread What's the most you would pay for Eyebrow Shaping?:
