I've been searching for info on this for about four months now. I saw a news report and it was so impressive that I was ready to set up my first appt. However, I have decided to wait a bit until I can get some more feedback. It does look very promising for fat and cellulite reduction! Pray

yes, its supposed to be very safe. Liposuction is the one plastic surgery procedure that has the highest death rate of any other procedure. This looks very promising,it is expensive but wouldnt it be nice to get rid of those cottage cheese thighs? Smile

I bought the whole body package for $1K. If I go by area, it costs $250 per area. I figured I got more for my money if I bought the whole body. Yesterday they did my bottom. I could already feel it's getting smoother, but the doctor said full results may not be achieved until 2-3 months from now. I'm going for my stomach and inner thighs today. Then the love handle, bra line, knees, neck, and chest tomorrow.

It did not hurt. It sucked your skin where the doctor placed the instrument, and some radio frequency light came out and heated it up. It did not feel too hot that you could not handle. It left some red marks on the skin, but they're going away already.

It kind of felt like you're getting a massage.

This procedure is supposed to help build collagen and tighten up the skin as well as reducing fat and cellulite. The doctor told me about this procedure when I asked him what to do with the loose skin on my stomach.

He did tell me that stubborn areas like love handle and lower abs will require 2-3 treatments to see full results. But by purchasing the whole body package, you can see which areas need followup. Then you go back for each of those areas.

You can learn more and download a $200 coupon for your first treatment atwww.velashape.com.

I found this coupon after I already paid for it. I'll still ask the doctor about it. He might not give it to me since the whole body package is already on special.

I forgot to add that it works on the same principle as Thermage but it is much cheaper.

Tamgirl, I will definitely keep you posted. I feel optimistic about this doctor. He seems honest and knows what he's doing. He said he has a lot of happy patients who did this procedure.

ruk1, how did you go about finding the doctor? Do the doctors performing the procedure need to be specially certified, etc.? Where is your doctor located? TIA!!

masaries, it was just by chance. I was not aware of this procedure before. I drove by this place many times and was always curious about it. It's run by doctors and it's called a laser skincare medical center. I stopped by out of the blue just to ask about what to be done with the loose skin on my stomach. However, when I went to velashape.com and used the search for doctor in my area, this place came up in the search, too. So if you want to find a doctor in your area, I'd suggest you go to velashape.com and do the search. You can call around for pricing. I really don't know if $1,000 for the entire body is a good deal or not. But I know Thermage is a lot more.

ruk1,
I was told it cost close to $3000.00 so if you can get it for about $1000.00 you got a great price. Keep us posted if you decided to do it, I want to see your results. Thanks,

Sfong, I already paid for the whole body deal yesterday, and already got 3 areas done: buttocks, lower abs, and inner thighs. I am going back for the rest tomorrow. I'm glad to know that $1,000 is a good deal. I love good deals.

Had Velashape on my lower abs and inner thighs yesterday. Today when I was in the bathroom, I noticed there did not seem to be as much loose skin on my lower abs as before. I hope it's not merely an imagination. Today I will go back for the rest of the body. I truly love this procedure. It's like I'm getting a deep tissue massage albeit a very expensive one.

I'm so excited to see that you're reviewing Velashape. Just this past weekend, I saw something horrific in the mirror - MORE cellulite! I've had cellulite for forever, but this past year it's increased dramatically. Funnily, this is the year that I've been eating more healthily. Rolling Eyes

If things go well for you, I'm going to try it out later this summer (gotta save up). I'm so glad that there might actually be a non-surgical solution!

Apparently this is what Kim Kardashian had down to fix her cellulite and I think might be also what Jennifer Aniston had done recently too. While I love hearing celeb gossip its nice to hear the results of a fellow "real person" so I would love to hear up dates from anyone who has had this down...good or bad.

I had my entire body done. Then I called another med spa because a friend wanted it done, too, but did not want to go to the same place. She wanted a very small area done, and she felt it would be too expensive to pay $250 per area. I took her to this spa, and I told them I had my entire body done. I'm now getting a conflicting opinion. They felt that Velashape cannot be done on the entire body but should be done one to two areas at a time, and you should do a series of 4-5 treatments. I am confused now. The other place was an actual doctor, but I hope he was not lying to me or that he was a quack.

As far as my real results, I am kicking up my exercise routine since I wanted all the fat meltdown to have an outlet. I also tried Rubby's saran wrap method on my lower abs before I get on the treadmill. I do feel that things are looking better, and still hope it is not only my imagination.

I will keep you posted. I'll measure in a couple of weeks to see if I lost any inches at all.

By the way, Velashape I believe was created specifically for cellulite, but has a secondary benefit of skin tightening and collagen building.

Update: It's been almost 9 months since my treatment. I believe it was a complete waste of money for me. It might have worked better if I focused on a small area at a time, and went back for at least 4 or 5 treatments of that specific area.

I would never know if Velashape truly worked or not because I later learned from another med spa that I should not have done so many areas. I'm not sure why that doctor sold me that type of package. I would never go back to him. To me, he is a quack.

Why is it better to focus on a small area at a time? Did it treat cellulite at all?

You can usually see results after 3-4 Velashape sessions.

I am trying this for 99$ a session tomorrow with a dear friend. Maybe the reason we got it so cheap is that the results are going to be non existent! In any case it will be a fun girls day out, as we hit some outlets thinking of spring fashions and the extra 99 bucks we could have spent on them if I'd have checked here first!! Embarassed
