Is Rose Hip Seed Oil the same as Rose Hip Oil?
I have really dry skin and am trying a few oils from Garden of Wisdom. I tried the Rose Hip Seed Oil because I've been reading it is one that is good for dry skin. However, I don't really like it. It makes my skin kind of itchy. Today I was reading about products by Kosmea and Korres that contain Rose Hip Oil that sound nice. Maybe what I have isn't the right kind for dry skin???
The only oil I've tried so far that doesn't feel itchy is Almond Oil. Any other recommendations? And, is it best to mix an oil in with a cream or apply it directly to my face?
I also like the Squalene Oil but not Emu Oil. The Emu Oil seems to give me red, itchy spots. I must have strange skin because I've only read great things about emu oil and haven't read anyone having a bad reaction with it.
I tried the OCM with the oil cleanser from GoW and I swear that made my skin feel even more dry which seems crazy.
What am I doing wrong? I live in a really cold, dry winter climate and my skin gets even worse (drier) this time of year. |

The best face oil I have ever used is Ren's Omega 3 Overnight Lipid Renewal Serum. You put this on a night and wake up with the greatest glow on your face. I use it all the time. It's great for all skin types. It contains the rosehip oil and also wheat germ oil which someone once told me is the best oil you can use on your face.
Here's a description:
Ideally used at night, this serum will boost the skin with essential bio active nutrients that stimulate its natural process of renewal and regeneration helping to restore suppleness and elasticity. In addition it stimulates the skin's natural protection mechanism helping fight moisture loss and free radical attack. Vegetal Plankton Extract and Gold Of Pleasure Oil both rich in Omega 3 promote cell membrane development while Rosehip Seed Oil and Wheat Germ Oil intensively nourish and protect.
You can get a sample at Sephora, they sell it there and give it a try. |

Hi Button,
I'm not sure if Rose Hip Seed Oil is the same as Rose Hip Oil - I'm not oil informed.
But I have tried Kosmea Rosehip Oil. It was quite moisturising and seemed to even out my skin tone/help with healing pimple scars. I didn't experience any itching with this oil - actually found it quite soothing. I use to put it on damp skin after cleansing at night.
Ren's Omega 3 Overnight Lipid Renewal Serum sounds nice. |

Have you tried olive oil yet?
I am a fan myself of emu oil but since you said that doesn't work for you, olive oil may be the solution.
The only thing you have to look out for is it going rancid.
Often times some sort of essential oil is put in with the olive oil to keep it from going bad.
Good luck. |

Can you use olive oil from the cooking section in the grocery store or is there a different type of olive oil for the skin? |
