fine lines, leaves a dewy finish, but not oily. Something that looks natural and not cakey, and you cant really tell you are wearing makeup, but has light to medium coverage!! Dont mind high end product. Is there anything out there?? |

I never wear foundation, at 53 it just makes you look older. I use cliniques pore minimizer in the T zone to make pores vanish and then I lightly dot and spread Philosophy's The Supernatural poreless, flawless tinited spf15.Comes in 1 shade that works on everyone. It gives coverage, takes away shine gives a natural matte look and you will look way younger than if you wear foundation. You can sample it first at Nordstroms or sephora. |

Yes I totally agree with looking older with foundation. I am 45 and it doesnt give me flawless skin, just seems to show up my fine lines more! will try the above product. thanks |

You could try Clarins True Comfort at the counter. I tried it on my hands and liked the way it made my skin look smoother. It is suitable for dry and mature skin. The coverage is buildable. |

I love Gerda Spillman Cream Makeup when you put it on with a sponge. It gives me a flawless finish, doesn't creap into my lines and it looks dewey. |

I love the new Bobbie Brown Luminous Moisterizing Foundation. I have not loved hers in the past, but this one is really good for me. Moisterizing, but not greasy, med coverage. It's a good color match for me too (sand), which has been a BIG challange. |

zizi, if you go to gerdaspillman.com they list the places you can purchase it. I think you might even be able to order samples. |

My HG is Giorgio Armanis Luminous Silk Foundation. It is hard to find and I either get mine at Saks Fifth Ave or at The Belligio. You can get samples by calling either store/boutique.
I'm am now testing Clinique's City Stick Foundation (was discountinued but now brought back). This is very sheer but so far I like it. To give a luminous look after I apply it, I use Laura Merciers "Secret Finish". This is also a new product for me. So far I like the look. I just I don't react from either.
Good luck on your search!! |

Hi Lucyluc,
Estee lauder Futurist is great for fine lines and is hydrating. I don't use it but my mom does and she loves it.
If you really want to go high end there is no better flawless, superlight no makeup finish as SKII airtouch. Takes some practice but so far I am never giving it up. |

Another vote for a Clarins foundation - but a different formulation! I've recently discovered Clarins' Extra-Firming Foundation. I can use it as a "spot" foundation and it works really nicely around the eye area to disguise darkness and fine lining (without looking heavy or cakey). It give a really nice clean, healthy look (especially at the seam between the cheekbone and the eye area - which can often look sunken). I just love it. It also wears beautifully - It stays fresh-looking. At 42, I can wear it as a full foundation and it doesn't age me. It is $47CDN and, of course, you can try it at any Clarins counter
Good luck (I know how frustrating it can be trying to find "the right" foundation!)

My vote is for Dr Hauschka's Foundation. I've raved about it constantly and have been using it happily for years. I'd say it provides you with everything you are looking for and more. |

Lucy,
I did a review on EDS...do a quick search on SKII and you will find several other posts. I bought mine in London (it was around £85 for the unit) and a refill costs around £40..this lasts 6 weeks for me with a 30 second application. Pricey but I wont be going back to painting with a brush. For the web try searching for SKII Airtouch Foundation.

I have liked Lancome's Imanance tinted moisturizer w/ SPF 15. The color selection may be a problem for some but it does not accentuate the lines. |

A few members are raving about CoverGirl Advanced Radience in the compact. Its suppose to be great for mature skin and leaves a nice dewy finish. |

Hands down: GERDA SPILLMANN. You can order 5 samples for $5.95 @www.gerdaspillmann.com
or you can go ahead and order a small 4 gm compact that will last you around 4 months for $20. You only need a tiny bit. Buildable coverage. Can be matte or dewy - I make it dewy by going over it with a barely damp BeautyBlender sponge after applying it with my fingers.
Don't let the ingredients skeer you though, they are all pharmaceutical grade and made in Switzerland. Contains: lanolin, wax, mineral oil, TiDo, parabens, frag. But OH MY! it gives me the most beautiful finish! Very silky feeling to apply. Feels light on the skin and doesn't look cakey or fakey.
I am lt/med golden normal skin with some fine lines and I use "Praline". It most definitely does NOT creep into those fine lines - in fact it seems to fill them in and blur them.
The blush is a lovely natural shade that anyone could wear IMO, and blends in seamlessly so it looks like you are not wearing MAKEUP at all. This is a makeup junkie's dream foundation. I really have tried everything out there - high end to DS. This is IT.
Can't say enuf wonderful things about it! |

I would suggest Giorgio Armanis Luminous Silk Foundation also. It is light and dewy and helps me look a little less tired.
Having said that I am always on the search for a new and better foundation. |

I've tried many foundations that look cakey. I really like Laura Mercier's Base Foundation with SPF20 in Nude (because I have light skin). It goes on like a moisturizer but is tinted and thin. It looks great on the skin and it has your daily dose of SPF20 in it so you put it on in the morning and you are ready to go! |
