Hi ladies, as you all know....applying eye shadow can sometimes be a pain and time consuming. The problem is some of us don't even know how to master those nice color combinations on our lids I know Cargo makes a disposable instant eye shadow card and it's available here at EDS. But the problem is you have to purchase the entire kit which has a total of 28 different colors for $28. But what if I'm not into all the colors? Then I was reading a magazine and saw these 2 other brands...Eye Majic and ColorOn Professional. They offer the same concept of instant eye shadow cards but the great thing is you can purchase them separately or choose which colors you want in a kit. Price is a bit more expensive than Cargo.
So after my long babbing ..... do u ladies think it's a good idea? I find that the compact eye shadow will last quite awhile so in the long run, u save more $$$. If u prefer those instant eye shadow cards, they're about $1.50 - $2 each card and they can only be used once. So ladies, what do u all think? |

So how exactly are you supposed to apply these?
I actually think that this is only a good idea if you are going somewhere fancy and you have the tiniest purse ever.Otherwise this is too expensive overall.I also don't understand how this makes application faster-you still have to put it on your eyelids |

well u applied the strip to your eyelid and rub. After u peeled the strip off, the nice colors will be on your lid. It's good cuz u don't need to apply different color to different areas of your eyelid if u get what I mean. For example, for those nice smokey eye effect, u can try one of those strips.

hahaah-I just watched the video-"For times when you want something playful and a little shocking"-oh the numerous times when I wanted that
As for the product-I am a bit skeptical but I would see the value in it if you want to learn to apply eye makeup or if you want something special for an event-I still think it's too expensive to use all the time. Some of the slideshow pictures they have are nice but the models had work done on their bottom lids and their is visible work with pencil and eyeliner so to get results that good you'll still have to do a bit of work))
If you try it out let us now how it goes-I am curious now |

haha I'm curious and tempted too but it's a bit pricey.
I'm in Canada and it seems their S&H is $45!! I emailed them to ask about that as the price is outrageous but didn't hear anything from them yet. |

I just looked at the close ups of some of the photos-some of them look pretty bad-there is definitely a problem for some of the models that the strips don't match their eye shape which is very visible on stronger colors. So perhaps better go for very light ones. |

This looks like a good concept- but I think that it would get really messy. Plus I don't think everyone's eys would fit that shape. Looking at them close up, they dont look too good, there is no blending, and on some of them you can see the paper imprints.
I think this would be fun to try out, but too expensive! I would rather buy a compact of colors that I really like. |

Hrm. I saw this on Oprah...maybe last year?
She had some women inventors on her show to showcase their products and the winner would be featured on QVC in the states. Well, this lady didn't win. Some of the models who applied it while on the show had the shadows NOT come out as theorized. The application was a little sloppy and not altogether uniform. It also looked like you had to get the placement of the cards exactly where you want them otherwise they'd be crooked! |

I just saw the vid...so funny!
Actually I like putting on eye shadow..its fun...but if pressed for time or on holiday those strips look great! They would be more convenient and easy to pack than a bunch of makeup quads... I am tempted but probably wont buy them..... |

Which product?
You would have to check the ingredients for each product .....
I do advise that...I do it for what I eat so why not check what you put on your nails and face hair etc...... |

I remember seeing this in Avon, and (I don't mean to offend anyone here) but it looked really tacky. The model had either the blue or the purple on and it just looked like lines of colour on her eyelid. I think the concept is a good one, but you really have to blend it so that it doesn't look like paint by the numbers. Now a days though, makeup companies seem to understand that not everyone has the resources or the time to be a makeup artist in their spare time and they've created palettes that tell you brow, lid, crease etc. Everyone from Cargo to Covergirl seems to be following this trend, and it probably is the better way to go than put colour stickers on. |
