I have milia (tiny yellow dots) under both of my eyes. They only came recently and I think they are the reason why I have big dark bags under my eyes as it certainly isn't heredity or diet or anything like that and I'm only 20 yrs old.
The dots I have are very very small, but there are many. Thus I can not have surgery or laser or manually "pick" them out one by one.
So I am looking for a Cream or something similar I can put on under my eyes.
ANY RECOMMENDATIONS??!
I am using the Obagi Nu-Derm system - is that suitable or too rough for under eyes??
Please any products you can recommend - especially those specifically for this problem - I'll be very grateful as I have not found any.
I live in the UK but don't mind importing anything from the US or Canada as long as it's GOING TO WORK!! |

Milia don't cause dark bags under the eyes, that is more indicative of a health, lifestyle, diet or skincare product issue. Have you seen your GP recently? How do you know the issue is not related to your diet, is that totally clean/ a balance and wide variety of wholefoods/ nothing processed? Why are you using Obagi? |

Thanks for your reply.
I was using Obagi because part of my skin around my cheeks were bumpy and apparently it was something right under the skin. Dermatologist recommended it and it worked great. Anyway that has all cleared up now but I still have it (though am no longer using it)
Yes my diet is very good, I can't say I never have anything processed but a good 90-95% is fresh healthy food, I get 9 hours sleep a night, drink plenty of water and as far as I know it isn't hereditary as neither my parents nor siblings have anything like this.
Furthermore the dark circles only arrived in the past 6-9 months alongside the milia.
Could you recommend any treatments??
I saw a GP who simply mentioned over the counter creams for the dark circles (she didn't even know what milia was). I saw a dermatologist who said it was milia and that it might have an effect on the circulation thus the vessels because of how many there were and how deep they were. |

The general concensus seems to be that nothing works for milia except extraction. A couple of people on the AnteAGE thread (see Reviews board) have reported their milia clearing, BUT the product is pretty expensive and very new to the market so I can't in all fairness recommend it to you. Perhaps read the milia posts in that thread for yourself?
For bags, dark circles or circulation issues be sure you are getting the recommended amount of physical activity/ exercise, and maybe read the Tanaka massage or Yamuna ball threads (see DIY skincare board). Diet sounds great for a Brit, we are terrible! |

Thanks for your reply. Yes I will check out the AnteAge thread then. Like I said I can't really do extraction.
It's a shame there aren't more products on the market as they are a right pain! |

Hi Hello, I was one of the ones on the AnteAge thread that got rid of some milia around the corners of my mouth. It took awhile though and the product is really expensive and it's certainly not guaranteed to work. I know Jom did also get rid of most or all of her milia around her eyes also. You might want to ask Jom for her comments on the AnteAge thread. Someone on the Reluma thread had good luck with their milia also. I'm sorry I don't remember who it was(maybe Sylvia) so you might want to post on that thread also.
Some people think it may have to do with using heavy creams and lotions on your face so it might be worth thinking about that to. |

I know! I guess it's because the eye area is so delicate, skincare companies are shying away from putting anything active on that area? Many anti-ageing eye creams don't contain anything that will actually be effective. Maybe Reluma and/ or AnteAGE will turn out to be the magic bullet for milia, but it's just too early to say. I think most people are trying those products for after dermarolling or to get rid of fine lines and if milia go that is a bonus, but you don't need to worry about ageing at 20! |

Same situation here. I got milia because I used this super heavy clogging eye cream from Yes to Carrots so avoid heavy creams for sure!
I remember coming across a discussion on the forum about getting rid of milia where you wash your eye area with a really gentle baby shampoo and then hold a warm washcloth over the eyes for a few minutes everyday. I haven't tried this method yet so I'm not sure how effective it is. |

I also have milia. Yesterday, I used a derma needle to pierce the skin over the milia and extract the white piece with a blackhead extractor. Seems to have worked well. Just disinfect everything you will use. |
