Hi there

I recently had a facial and the beautician suggested that I should include an exfoliant into my skincare routine. She tried to sell me her exfoliant (Pevonia) but at $60 seemed a tad expensive.

I have combination skin which is also a bit dry/dehydrated. She suggested by including a gentle scrub, it will help with dryness.

Currently I use:

Morning:
Aveda cleanser sensitive
Jurlique Rose Petal Mist
Janesce Softening Wonder Serem
Janesce Normal/Combination Lotion
MD Formulations 30+ SPF Protection

Night:
Cetaphil cleanser
Jurlique rose petal mist
Ole Hendrikson eye gel
Janesce softening wonder serem
Janesce Normal/combination Lotion

(BTW, Janesce is similar to Jurlique - organic products).

My face has never been better but as I mentioned above is slightly dry on my cheeks.

Can anyone reccommend a good exfoliant for dry skin?

Thanks and look forward to your suggestions.

I haven't tried it yet but this seems to be quite popular. I'm thinking about ordering it myself. I've been pleased so far with all of their products.

I have been using an ENJO face glove with my Kate Somerville products. It is nice and gentle and used morning and night provides a regular exfoliation. (My enjo demonstrator doesn't use any product with her glove at all - she just uses cold water!)

As an everyday exfoliating cleanser, I use Aveeno's daily scrub. Since it is mild, it will not dry out nor irritate your skin. It is very cheap, under $10 and will last you.
I have recommended Aveeno to two of my friends, and both have had pleasing results.

Oh, it is called "Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub", and it is soap-free, oil-free, hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic . It combines natural soy extracts with smooth, round micro-beads.

Best of Luck!

I just started using Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant and I love it. I use it every second day (because I personally feel exfoliating every day is too often for anybody). This product is gentle, using acids to exfoliate, not pumice. My skin is definately brighter since using it.

Thanks for your suggestions. I am currently trying to check out all the exfoliating products as well as reading their reviews on MUA to try and find one that's right for my skin.

I would love to try Dr H's cleansing cream again but I think it was the smell of it that put me off last time? From what I can remember it smelt like yeast.

I have noticed that the pevonia exfoliating cream is only $30 on this site (compared to $60 in the local spa) so might just purchase that unless I can find another good one to try.

I would just use a microfiber cloth. They are great! NCN has one that is about $10, but I believe you can find them even cheaper.

I love EpidermX II. It is by far the best exfoliator that I've ever used. Very Happy
