Just wondering how the Baume Essential works. It claims to purify the skin. Does this mean it brings the impurities to the skin surface in the form of a break-out?
Or does all the work and purification happen under the skin surface and therefore keep your skin clear? |

Hi Toe,
Luckily it didn't make my skin break-out, but I've heard some people say that they noticed a couple of spots after using it.
I noticed I had a much clearer complexion after using this products after a week or so. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but it smells great and I'll certainly buy iy again. Also, are you using it with neroli oil? That woorks a treat aswell!
Good luck with it |

Thanks for that, Yazzy. I bought the Neroli Oil as well. I have oily skin but it was suggested that I use the Neroli Oil first, then maybe switch to the Ylang Ylang.
Just received my Baume Essential and Neroli Oil this morning so will be trying it out tonight. Just worried that I will wake up covered in spots!
Do you really like the smell? I'm not too keen on it. Hopefully will get used to it quickly though.
If it sorts out my skin problem I will probably learn to fall in with the smell! |

I too have wondered how the Baume Essential works. It does seem to "purify" my skin, and despite the fact it's sort of greasy, it never causes me to break out. In fact, it speeds the healing process when other products have caused spots! |

Yeah - I've put it on my spots and found that they heal much faster! I suppose the smell reminds me of lavender/aromatherapy kind of stuff. |

I've been using the decleor range for 2 and a bit weeks now. My skin seems to be breaking out worse than it was, though some of the bumpy areas seem a bit smoother. I don't have the baume essential, but I use the ylang ylang night balm and ylang ylang oil. Anyone else find the same thing with this combo? I'm just hoping that it is bringing out the impurities in my skin and it will settle down soon. I'm so tired of things not working for my skin! |

Leaky, how often are you using the products? I have been using them (Ylang Ylang oil and balm) for about a month now, and I use the combo every other night. Initially I tried every night and seemed to break out more, so I cut my usage down. This helped a lot, and my skin is slowly becoming more clear. I like to think that is is going through a slow purifying process rather than a huge, fast one. Maybe doing that may help you, too.

Hi Tina
Here is what my beauty therapist told me to do (I only use Decleor products) -
Morning:
Gel cleanser
Mattifying lotion
Ylang ylang oil
Hydra matte moistruiser
Night:
Gel cleanser
Mattifying lotion
Eye gel-creme (I think its called that!)
Ylang ylang night balm
Twice a week I use the purete exfoliator and once a week the clay and herb mask.
The smell of the cleanser and the mattifying lotion is to die for!
I guess I'll stick it out for a few more weeks. Not sure which, if any of the products is causing the problem, but maybe I should do what you have done and cut down on the oil or the night balm. Hopefully it really is just a purifying of the skin. |

hey Leaky,
I have been using the ylang ylang range for about 2 months now and it hasn't made me breakout at all. I have oily but higly sensitive skin.
I think it depends on how and how much are you using it...
well give this a try, what i do is use the oil (2 tiny drops) followed by the balm ONLY at Night. In the daytime just use your hydra-matt regulating fluid.
I know the dir. says to use the oil in the morning and night but i only use it at night and that's how i have always used it. Works for me. Hope this helps |

My experience with the Essential Balm has been the same as Yazzy's, down to the Neroli Oil details |

thanks IndianT.
I only use the oil in the morning, but maybe using it at night instead would have some sort of positive effect. |

I received samples of both the ylang ylang oil and balm when I ordered the balance kit. I've been using the oil in the mornings before hydra-matt, and anti-shine treatment and the balm at night. I've only been putting the oil and balm where I have current breakouts. It seems to speed the healing time and prevent the zits from fully erupting...and my skin is SO soft! I'm loving it so far! |
