I have a unopened tube of JM Eyelash Conditioner with an exp. date of 1/07 (I misplaced it until now!).
Considering I've never opened it, is it still safe to use? I never had a problem with the earlier (questionable) version of this product, so I'm not worried about that, just the exp. date.
It's expensive, I don't want to throw it out! |

the expiration date only reference.
If product is exposed to sun everyday, it will expire before expiration date.
If you put product in a cool dry place, it will expire after EXP.
So just check the product's condition.
If you think it's still good , you can use it ~~ |

It expired a year ago...I personally wouldn't use it, mainly because it's going to be so close to the eye. If it just expired this month (as in 1/08 ) I might be more likely to give it a go, at least just for a short time. It might not be expired "yet" as it hasn't been opened, but once it has been, it might turn rather quickly.
Just my opinion though  |

| Right, check the condition like smell, exceeded oil on top of cream, color, & even possible mold around the opener.... |

| I'd hesitate since it's expired over a year ago, and it's going to be close to the eyes, so I agree with PT. |

| I would check the smell and consistency of it, esp becaue it'll be near your eyes. If you feel like it's off at ALL then don't risk it. You don't want a nasty skin infection that could leave you with permanent scars just to save money on skin stuff. That said, most products will last a few months from when opened no matter when that is. I have used cleansers that were past due by a year and been fine. |

I would suggest contacting the company and asking them for their opinion. That stuff is too expensive to throw out unless you absolutely positively have to part with it. It's "liquid gold"!  |

| I personally think that a year after the expiration date is way too long! If you said it was a month past the expiration date, I would say maybe. But, in this case THROW it out, even though it may be a tough thing to do! |

So,you go to a grocery store and you need to buy milk.And there is one last carton left that is oooh about a week expired-will you buy it?My guess-no.Now you are talking about something that is going to be near your tear duct and has been expired for a year.You know the answer  |

Aren't you afraid to take a chance with this product, after all the problems it caused in so many people?
Throwing it away, might translate to the best money you ever wasted. Your eyes are too precious for such a gamble. |

| A year ago is quite a long time. I sometimes give an extra month or 2 past the exp, if the product still looks, smells, and feels good. But I don't think I would something that is over a yr old on my face, esp near the eyes. |

| I agree with the majority that a year is too long for a product like this. It's just not worth the risk. |

| I would use it,I think the worst that can happen is it just wont grow your lashes, you will know in about 3 weeks if it still works |

| If I were you, I will not use the product. I don't want to take the risk to hurt my skin. Once the skin is hurt, it may take a long time for my skin to recover. |
