All of a sudden the crease where my nose meets the rest of my face on each side of my face has gotten peely. Usually this is the oiliest part of my face, but suddenly it's peeling and dry! Moisturizer does nothing and the peeling seems to get worse if I moisturize.
I use Dermalogica for my skincare line with:
Special Cleansing Gel
Daily Microfoliant
Toner
Active Moist
Makeup routine:
Jane Iredale pressed powder and Jane Iredale disappear for blemishes
I haven't changed anything in my routine...how do I get rid of the peely skin!?
Thanks in advance! |

sounds like something is irritating it, perhaps the microfoliant
i'd say give it a few days of rest so it can properly heal and moisturize with aquaphor (bisabolol is a really great anti-irritant) |

Sometimes a skin care problem may be caused by external factors. In this case, since you haven't changed anything in your routine, you should go to see the doctor. Don't just try to solve the problem by yourself or the situation may get worser & worser. Good Luck! |

I have the issue occasionally of dry, peely skin at the base of my nose even though my skin is oily overall. I tried a sample of DHC's cleansing oil yesterday and it did a great job of softening and loosening the flaking skin so when I rinsed most of the flakes were gone. And since it was an oil cleanser it didn't irritate the skin underneath. This was my first time trying this but I was very happy with how it worked for me. If you have an oil cleanser sitting around it might be worth a try. Otherwise I would probably just protect the peeling skin with a thick moisturizer until the flakes came off on their own. |

The microfoliant does the same thing to my skin around my nose if I use it everyday. Using the DHC oil cleanser does really help and it won't make you oilier in that area of your face. If you are using the microfoliant everyday I suggest using it every other day or every three days for awhile and see how that works. Good luck. |

I tend to have the same problem...the sides and often the tip of my nose get the flakies. I've noticed that sometimes I wash my face without paying full attention and often don't pay as much attention washing around my nose and in between my brows, and coincidentally, that's where I get the flakies the most.
Using scrubs around my nose hasn't helped too much, but using a washcloth and warm water really helps. |
