Anyone here use Skinceutical's products? Are they good? I am looking for an alternative skin products to Obagi line which my brother and his wife are so big on. Obagi is very popular in the Philippines, little do they know that it has harmful ingredients like DMDM Hydantoin which is a carcinogen and Hyroquinone which causes ochronosis and is banned in Europe, Africa & Asia. What does Obagi exactly do anyway that other brands don't?
Skinceuticals' website and packaging look very professional. However they do not list most of the ingredients in their products. I wanted to know what the ingredients are in their Foaming Cleanser among others.
How about CellularSkin Rx, Murad, Cellex C, Dermalogica, DDF, Peter Thomas Roth, Phytomer, SkinMedica, PureDeming, Living Nature? I even found this product called BiON:

Anyone used their skin care products? There are so many out there but which one is most effective on you and which ones do not have harmful ingredients? A complete line of products that get rid of skin blemishes, wrinkles, dryness/oiliness, and makes your skin look & feel younger, smoother, and healthier is what's everyone is looking for isn't it? How about Kinerase products?

eSquire415 - The ingredients list for the foaming cleanser is: Sodium methyl cocoyl taruate, Dimethicone copoyl, Sodium PCA, Extract of Arnica, Extract of Ivy, Extract of Cucumber, Extract of Mallow, Extract of Lime Tree, Extract of Sambucus.
You are asking a very tough question - there are so many products and so many different lines. Everyone will have different experiences as we all have different skin. Personally I have at least one product from CellularSkin Rx, Murad, Cellex C, Dermalogica, DDF, Peter Thomas Roth, Phytomer that I like. In many cases more than one.

Thanks Mabsy. So you mean to say that the most effective combination is not sticking with one brand. That you would need to use a combination of brands (taking what's the best from each) to be able to achieve your goal of a healthy facial skin? Now that would be even tougher, and it would even cost more, especially if you order them all online since you have to account for shipping on each. What do you think is the most popular in this forum? And based on your own experience, what would you recommend? The basics are...cleanser, toner, moisturizer, anti-wrinkle cream, anti-blemish cream, sunscreen.
As for Skinceuticals' Foaming cleanser, except for cucumber, I've never seen those other botanical ingredients from other products before, that's actually very interesting, i'll go do more research on that combination. |

Well, not necessarily. If your skin is liking all the products from one brand then you should stick with it. I have found that generally I tend to pick out certain products that work from different brands.
There are so many different skin types on this forum that it's also hard to say what is the most popular. Perhaps if you start a new post and specify your skin type and what products you are after then people will post their favorites in that category. I can't really recommend anything without knowing what type of skin you have and what your concerns are (not that I'm QUALIFIED to recommend anything anyway - it would just be from my experience and reading others' reviews ).

Ok...I should ask then, what is a good regimen in your experience for those who has acne prone oily-skin that would provide smooth and blotch free skin? I am leaning towards Skinceuticals products but any will do (except Obagi) as long as it's not more expensive.
Mabsy I'd like to know your regimen but first what is your skin type? |

I'm probably not the best person to recommend them from experience because I have normal to combo skin. However, I have found that MD Formulations products work really well in terms of controlling any breakouts or blocked pores. I would also suggest YonKa Creme 15 and Juvenil, as well as Jan Marini Bioglycolic Bioclear (which I just started using as a spot treatment but have read great reviews about it in the past).
So, if I were looking for products that control breakouts I'd either go for products with a combination of salicylic/glycolic acid or for a natural alternative. |
