I am currently going through another phase of dry skin (so dry I can feel my back 'stretch' when I bend over and then it drives me nuts with a case of the itchies)!

I have tried SO many body lotions but, most of them require daily use and I still feel dry. Does anyone know of a good lotion that will actually work to moisturize the skin instead of just soothing the skin for a few hours??

Thanks so much!

I feel for you, Kel. I used to get that on my lower legs and the constant itchiness drove me mad *scratch, scratch, scratch*. I recently tried Linacare Rehydrating Body Cream and can't say enough good stuff about it--it made a *huge* difference for me. I'd post the ingredient listing for you from my tube but I ran out last week and am waiting for my re-order. Lots of good info on their website, though...

I am using LUSH Dream Cream now and it has left my skin soft smoothe and itch-free all winter! Smells great too!

I think it would be wise to moisturize from the inside as well. You might drink some more liquids, or use (more) omega oils. Also, there are some hydrating supplements available, which might be beneficial.

For a body cream: apply your bodylotion or bodyoil on a slightly moist skin (after showering or bathing) so it can lock in more moisture.

Thanks Havana8-I get it on my calves as well...it's not itchy but, it's not purdy looking, that's for sure.
I appreciate your advice, where can I purchase Linacare? Is it quite heavy/greasy? Quite frankly I don't even care as long as it works! Smile

Fawnie: Thanks for the advice, is LUSH available on EDS?

Londonfan: I drink a LOT of water, and I also moisturize after I shower as well and it hasn't seemed to work. Thanks for the tips though!

Linacare is a Vancouver brand, Kel. You can get it from their website as well as other retailers, some of whom they list on their website. I used the Intensive unscented version and happily didn't find it greasy or waxy.

Thanks Havana! I love to be able to buy Canadian when I can, so this is perfect. I appreciate the tip!
Looks like all the good stuff is on the other side of Canada! Wink
