Jane Iredale just came out with an SPF 30 (UVA rating 3) sunblock in translucent or tanned. While I would totally wear this on my face instead of a setting powder or when not wearing the SPF 20 pressed foundation of theirs, what about the body. It says it's a body powder and is supposed to be used all over, wherever it is needed. I couldn't imagine powdering up my legs though or how much product that would take to do that.

Ha?!As soon as get money will try this)))I am all for powdered sunscreen .Mind you this is probably not meant to be used for activities like swimming. And I would be a bit concerned about it rubbing of on clothes. |

In looking at the picture on her website, the dispenser looks very similar to the Bare Escentuals RareMinerals Skin Revival Treatment except with a mirror on the lid.
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/bare-escentuals-rareminer-p_8007.htm
Here are the ingredients for the Translucent and Tanned:
Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) (15%)
Inactive Ingredients: Mica (CI 77019), Montmorillonite, Boron Nitride, Isopropyl Jojobate, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77489, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)
It's interesting that it says it's a face and body powder. I see what you mean. I could see using it on my face and decollete but probably not on my body. That's a pretty small puff! |

I bought something similar at madminerals.com...It was supposed to have spf 20, but I did not like the cast it left on my face. Otherwise, it would be a brilliant solution when you are suddenly exposed to the sun, but do not want to lotion up. |

i tried IS clinical powdered sunscreen, and i agree with londonfan, that it is a great way to get sunscreen without having to redo your makeup. i don't think i would use it on my body though, i would be too worried that it would rub off |

Thanks. Have you tried it? Any problem with the brush (like not soft enough for the face) or difficulty in brushing an even coverage? |

Fairrene I assume the question is for me? I haven't tried it yet but am going to order soon. Sorry for suggesting something I haven't tried but just thought it's another interesting option for you if you are considering powder type sunscreens. |

Thanks Kissmark for yr suggestion.
You see, i am deciding between a few; Colorscience, Jane I and now PTF. Seems that in the PTF forum, the problem with PTF (like Colorscience) has packaging problem because of the brush. But in terms of coverage PTF is good.
So far, have not heard anyone tried the Jane I(which is not brush form). I think i will order both PTF and Jane I since is a matter of time they will be used up. |

I can't imagine putting powder ss on the body especially if you're going to the beach and stuff. It will take a lot to cover the entire body. Also, I think it's hard for the powder to adhere to the body since it doesn't product much oil? |

Hi All & those who are following this post,
I finally ordered and tried both the PTR and Jane Iredale. Both offers the SPF coverage i wanted and what i want the powder SPF to achieve ie. "putting on a foundation but not make-up base". I will strongly recommend Jane Iredale as it comes in a sponge-like container. Easy to apply. The PTR brush-kind is not desirable as the powder does not come out that easily. Extra effort is needed. |
