And I am going to ask the question that others *may* be thinking...what would happen *if* I started phasing in some of their products while I used up the tons of stuff I already have stockpiled?

Ex: C Boost

A non acid Vitamin C to reduce inflammation and to build up dermal protein. Clinically tested. Outstanding when combined with other 302 products. Recommended dose schedule: 2 to 3 times per week. A powerful non-irritating C product. Use with 302 Face & Body Bar or a 302 Cleanser to combat tough inflammation and irritation cases. Compatible with acids. Any skin type.

Or 302 Drops

The flagship product. Patented avocado extracts. Combats "gristle" buildup, softens skin. Rapidly builds epidermal protein, builds dermal protein. Clinically tested. Multiple uses. Oustanding for aged, thin depleted skin. Outstanding for acne scar removal, smoothing. Any skin type.

I am just wondering how to take advantage of some of the offerings, without trashing the tons of acid stuff I just bought. Confused

Bethany (and Kassy), I will tell you my way of thinking on this subject. I too have a large stockpile of products that has grown bigger by the month, especially since I joined EDS. I am not throwing these products away because I am starting 302 of course; I am just putting them aside. If 302 works for me then I can later incorporate the products that are compatible with the 302 philosophy. If 302 doesn't work for me then all my other products will still be there including the acids should I decide I want to use them after all (highly unlikely but not impossible). Right now I feel all my acid products have been doing me more harm than good so using them up just so I can justify the fact that I spent so much money on them is only hurting me. The money is gone whether I use the products or not ("sunk cost" to use an old economics term that has stuck with me). I hope that makes sense. Smile

I do understand the concerns about some Vitamin C products having a limited shelf-life; I didn't have any of the more unstable ones so if you do then that may be more of a factor for you than it was for me.

I thought I'd better clarify that I'm not trying to push anybody else into buying yet another line of products. This is just the reasoning that went through my mind as I contemplated buying new products even though I have so much other stuff that I could use. Believe me, I am tired of buying product after product so I hope I didn't come across as trying to push others into buying more stuff. As I re-read my post I started thinking I sounded like an enabler. Very Happy

Heck no, that thought never ocurred to me! Only you know what is right for you, and when that time for a change is! I just made a change to CP's and my LED, so I am going to...ugh...FORCE...myself to show a little restraint and give these a chance to work before changing yet again (or I could be doing this every week, lol).

But I have already learned a ton from reading the 302 site about how we shouldn't be using the same active 2 days in a row, etc...those are learnings that I can apply immediately!

I ordered 302 Skincare eye firming serum (and face and body bar) today.

The serum promises: To rebuild crepe-paper skin, restore elasticity and sustain it, and immediate plumping and smoothing.

It's supposed to build up weak, thin eye area tissue using short chain rice peptides, amino acid fibronectin and urea together with Avocatin 302.

I intend to alternate it with another eye serum every other day, as suggested on a website.

As I am only going to use the 302 Skincare eye product, I don't think it would be necessary to change my current skincare routine with vit C serum (non-acidic) and retinol (twice a week). I might skip the retinol for the coming weeks. Any view on that?

I will report back on my results. Smile

I tried the 302 protein drops way back when they first came out. I really didn't stick with it long enough because the soap and cleanser really dried me out. There is a salon in San Francisco that raves about the line. The only thing that concerns me is the amount of irritants in the products. I know for me the menthol, camphor, peppermint oil, clary sage would have my skin on fire.

Hi cookie,

When they first came out, they only had a few products: The 302 drops, F/B bar, one cleanser, A Boost, C Boost. That was it I think. They have since added a bunch of other products, more streamlined to specific problems, including rosacea and sensitive skin. Maybe those cleansers would be more suitable for you. And maybe transitional products would be helpful. I didn't experience any dryness but then my skin was so oily. Gunilla Skincare Butik and Lisa Bradbury Salon in San Franscisco both carry and do 302 facials. Are you talking about one of them? Wish I could have one of those done, especially with ultrasound.

Hm, "camphor tangerine and mint extracts" - those are quite high on the list of irritants...

Hey everybody:

For those of you who want more reviews/information about 302, you can go towww.spectacularskin.com. Do a search on 302 and especially the posts from "Shayna" on there. She was one of the first to use 302 products along with me in 2005. She is VERY knowledgeable about skin function and biochemistry. She could talk the socks off any biochemist I think. She was a nurse/esthetician and had a very good response to 302 drops, but only after 3 months of her skin looking like h__l. I think she is now retired. Anyway, she has very scientific detailed explanations of the how/why skin behaves to 302 and other topicals. She has excellent advice for those with acne scarring. I always enjoyed reading her posts. You also can read opinions from other past users too. Not all are positive of 302. But that's the nature of skincare. It will work well for some, not so good for others. If we could all predict which products would be best for each person, we'd be alot richer (not having to buy all these products and experiment Sad ).

Anyway, I wanted to let you know about this information to provide both sides. Just because I love the line, I don't want to give the impression it's the HG of everything and you just need to buy it right away. There are lots of other very good lines out there, and not one size fits all.

Most of these posts are dated 2006, before many of the current 302 products were added. Not sure if Shayna still uses 302 or not.

The products do not appear to be available over the internet... did you who have ordered have to go to a retailer or how do you obtain them?

I live in Canada, and do not always have the same products available here Sad

Hello Boski,

Thank you for helping so many people with your informative posts and tremendous results as ssen in your pictures. Very appreciated and congratulations.

I am not in the market to change products right now (just started Karin Herzog) but I find the entire philosophy very intriguing and your results cannot be denied.
I have decided for a while now that acids were no longer going to be in my program.
We have a plastic surgeon/derm in our area and his skin is so thinned out looking - it's almost creepy. I'm sure he's overdoing the acid Laughing

I am looking at the cleansers and the eye serum.

Also, I notice from your posts that you use the 302 drops and not the 302 serum - although based strictly on reading - the serum seems more appropriate for oily skin. Was it a problem at all using the 302 drops - (one the sites says it is for dry skin.)

Thanks,
Sis

Hi Boski, do you live in San Francisco? The name of the spa is Spa Sole on Fillmore right up the street from Lisa Bradbury. I was in there a few years back and they were absolutely wonderful. The only thing that scares me from this product line is certain ingredients that I know would make my skin flare up. Maybe I will pop in the spa one day.

Oh no!! Couldn't afford to live in SF. I used to live in Livermore, CA about 7 years ago which is 1-1/2 hours south. Loved the SF scene, especially the food and the diversity!! I just happened to notice when I was shopping around for 302, that these salons were using it, and they are pretty high-end I'm guessing, being in SF. Gunilla was mentioned in the Allure this month as one of the top facialists in the country. Maybe you should try her.

Thanks sister sweets! I was very hesitant to post my before/after without a really thorough review, so that nobody bought it without knowing everything possible. I didn't want to start a lemming run based on my results alone. Mamawalnut helped prod me to write a review. I hope it at least sparks some more discussion that we all can learn from. I think you have a great plan. Keep using the KH and see if that works for you. You may not need 302.

I know the site recommends the serum for oily. I've tried both. I prefer the drops because it has the consistency of an EO. I don't like the serum feel as much (it's an emulsified, lotion version). Both are the same potency. It's just my personal preference.

Thanks for your quick response. I will keep this in the back of my mind. I like the cleansing products - I use KH professional cleanser at night but these look very nice as an alternative.

And I definitely need an eye product soon.

I really like the simplicity of the line and I will take to heart the philosophy of only one acid/day. I think we've all learned something reading your post.

I have been using UGloGirl for the last year. It has no shine, not too matte or chalky, bismuth oxychloride free. Has never caused breakouts or irritation. I use this when I have to go out. Otherwise, I don't even bother with foundation if I'm inside most of the day. Don't know the exact SPF factor unfortunately, but it does have titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. The other ingredients are silk mica (not shiny mica though), silica microspheres (oil absorbent), iron oxides and ultramarine blue (color agents). Great customer service too.

I have tried Jane Iredale, Glominerals, Pure Luxe, Youngblood, Lumiere, La Bella Donna, Cory, but this had the best color match and coverage for me. Very long wearing. The container is small for the price, but I don't use alot, so it lasts awhile for me. They have samples.

Did you try the email below?

302 professional skincare
tel. (800) 295-7839
fax. (208) 475-5850
info@302skincare.com

If it went through okay and was not rejected by your mail server, and haven't received an answer after a day, they might be swamped and unable to return emails right away. They are a really small company and probably more calls and emails are coming in than usual because of this thread. If you haven't heard by the end of today, you can send me a PM with your questions and I'll try to get a hold of somebody there for you.

Sounds like some technical problem on their end then. Go ahead and PM me your problems with your return email and I'll try to contact someone on your behalf.

I'll be following this thread; I definitely think overuse of acids can come back to haunt you. I have some TCA in the house, but I use it only for spot acne treatment. And then I have to spot treat the remaining scar. Hmmmm.

I have a friend who is an actress who regularly does TCA peels. Like, every month or so. She has okay skin, anyway, but was experiencing the "over 55 panic" actresses go through. (It begins with the "over 30 panic," and continues.)

Last fall she was sitting near a window and chatting in my home. I was fascinated to see that her cheeks were NOT flawless, as it looked in interior light. The sunlight showed her whole face as a web of scars. Smooth and tight because of scars, not healthy skin, at all. I didn't say anything (why would I?) but I was gasping with horror inside.

That experience more than any other information makes me look twice at strong acids. I use mild acids to counteract my waxy sebum. But aggressive molting your skin off regularly really cannot be a good thing. . .

Sidda, I'm just curious to what else she might be doing, that would cause 'scarring'.... I didn't think TCA would do that if done correctly and in moderation..

Is she doing any needling, or other invasive treatment that could account for the scarring?

Kassy, I can't say for sure -- it's all done in a chic derm's office. I know acids are supposed to "molt" top skin and let new fresh skin show, but it looked like her whole face had been burned. You know, the tight shiny skin of burn scars? I'd never noticed it before -- it was the way the light hit her face that day.

She looks fine in real life. But it did make me gasp and consider what real damage she might be doing to herself.
