Thanks to the person who posted about possible yeast infection if there is dry skin around the mouth. I am plagued with it once in while and I know my immune system is low right now.

I also was using a natural toner I never used before so I didn't know what it was supposed to look or smell like but I suspected when I first opened it, it seemed off. It was kind of cloudy but I though it was the aloe. My fault too for storing it in the bathroom. Well, not wanting to waste it I used it and I think that was around the time my skin started to get really dry and flakey. I am using every greasy thing I can and exfoliating and still no real improvement.

I might try just some aloe with golden seal to kill off the germs. My face isnt really itchy though.

Yeast often shows up around the mouth as little cracks right in the corners of your mouth.

Hi, I am working in a biology lab. I can tell you that toner got some fungal organisms in it (yeast is a fungus).

Aloe is probably OK for bacteria, but not for funga. Funga can resist all kinds of antibiotics (actually many antibiotics are from funga). So go to see a doctor, they know how to treat funga. Don't try to find out the answer yourself, funga are really hard to deal.

Shock I really didn't know it was possible to get yeast/funga from a skincare product.

What kind of products are most likely to cause this? Organic products? And what am I supposed to look out for to avoid these invaders on my skin?

Please enlighten me. Thank you.

My toner is a natural one with aloe, vitamin e, rose water, witch hazel and extracts of marigold and chamomile. I think the preservative is grapefruit seed extract. I put it in the washroom intending to use it but never did. So I think it went bad quickly. I don't know how long it was sitting in the store before I bought it but people don't think about how the hot lights of displays can cause something to break down faster.

When I pick something up from a lighted display it feels warm to me so I know its gonna be deteriorating at some point especially if its something like Juice Beauty. Not saying that was my toner but its from a natural skincare store in town.

sakura said her toner "was kind of cloudy but I though it was the aloe."

The cloudy means the toner has funga growing.... All the other toners are fine without any funga.

SOrry for my poor explanation.

When I had aloe go bad I saw black streaks in it so I didn't think that it was the same thing when it was cloudy. It did have the same sort of smell but then it could have been the witch hazel. Its gone in the trash anyways.

I had many buffers and media got fungal growth, they are usually white cloud.

Anyway, don't put skincare stuff at bathroom, the steam and heat will kill them.

little cracks in the corners of your mouth can also be indicators of vit.В2 hypovitaminosis (shortage of vit.В2 in your body)

sakura, it is also possible that you have spring hypovitaminosis. Dry and flaky skin can be caused by shortage of vit.A.
Eat healthy with lot of veggies and fruits and try a good polyvitaminic complex.

I made a little batch if lip balm, mixing avocado oil, shea butter and a few drops of peppermint oil.

After a couple of weeks, black streaks was showing up. I guess this is some kind of funga, then? I think this happened very quickly. This will have to be a big challenge when DIY-ing, I suppose. hmm

Hmmmm...this is really good to know.

I had severe cracking around my mouth, flakiness and peeling but I was pretty sure it was due to the new Aquafresh orange toothpaste I was using. That went in the garbage fast but the cracking and peeling lasted for at least a month!

Keep us posted on what you're using that works!

I know I have one with vitamin a. You get that in carrots right? I have such a problem assimilating it. I can only eat carrots once every few weeks. If I eat it two or three times a week my hands and feet go orange. I am seeing a nutritionist so I will find out more. Thanks!

you should also remember that synthetic vitamins are not that harmless and you shouldn`t exceed the daily dose.
So if you`re already taking some vitamin complex, it would be a better idea to consult with your doctor or nutritionist before increasing the dose on your own.

what is wrong with clear urine? Confused
I thought if you drink enough water, your urine should be clear, shouldn`t it??

it`s so odd about getting orange hands and feet after eating carrots Shock
may be you eat a couple of kilos of carrots at once??? Laughing
anyway it is really a good idea to see your nutritionist so he/she can consult you.

usually you can find sources of pure vit.A in animal food only: fish liver, beef liver, butter, yolks of eggs.
Fruits & veggies contain carotene, which is a pre-stage of vit.A and is transformed into vit.A in your body when you eat food rich in carotene: carrots, red paprika, spring onions, sorrel, pumpkin, sea-buckthorn, parsley, tomatoes, apricots.
It is also to remember that carotene is an oil-soluble vitamin, so it is only assimilated when consumed with some oil (any kind of it).

No I am not talking about a pound every few days! I know that would make me orange. I am talking about like a 14oz carrot juice two or three times a week. I just can't assimilate it that way too well. I try to get it in other ways but I do like carrots. So I limit myself to one juice a week.

B vitamins are water soluble so whatever you don't need comes out. Is the fat soluble ones like vitamin a or e that you need to worry about buildup. As for clear urine, yes if I drink enough water I should have clear urine but its like that all the time. My kidneys are not concentrating the urine. I am working on improving my body and she went over my supplements and said I picked some really good ones to use but I forgot to mention the other ones I am taking.

So when I see her next I will ask her. I just need to improve on my eating habits but I am such a rotten cook.
