My eyelashes at my eye corner of my right eye are curling. They drive me nuts because they can somethings itch me. I am not sure why this is happening. It could be because I have my upper and lower lids done 5 years ago and the surgeon left me with different eye corners so maybe the lashes are being bent when I sleep or blink. Or maybe it is because I have been growing longer lashes with a couple of products I have been using and the long ones are thinner. Or it could be a combination of the two.

Any suggestions for straightening them out? It is just at the outer corner of one eye.

mommydearest,

Some people have had lashes that grow in odd directions while using any of the lash enhancing products which contain various prostaglandin analogues (glaucoma drugs).

oh I am not using any thing with that in it. I am sure there are no drugs in it. I did use Jan Marini a long time ago and actually did see a similar curling at the outside of my eyes but it was much worse. However, since they are both stimulating lash growth it could be just the way my lashes there respond. I just thought there might be a product out there that straightens curling lashes.

2 things what are you using as there are other drug type substances in many out there, if you don't mind saying?

The heated lash combs used for curling would also straighten if used to comb the curl out. Smile

One product is nourishing oils for lashes. The other one is called NutraLuxe Lash MD. I guess the only thing that looked like it could be a drug is called Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans. Maybe I am wrong and it does have drugs. Seems like if it did I would see even more dramatic results and more side effects. I know with the Jan Marini my eyelids were too irritated and the color of my lids near the lashes got darker. My eyes are brown so they stayed the same. I will look into the heated comb. I might try heating up the lash curler and pulling it through. I know if you heat it up and keep it in place it sets the curl.

The reason I recommended the heated comb is pulling a heated regular lash curler may pull lashes out.

The ingredient you mentioned is not a drug here is the information on it.

Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans
Email This Post

* An ingredient that increases the elasticity and pliability of the skin

Functions:

Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans are widely used in skin care products and cosmetics because of their ability to bind with water efficiently and increase depth hydration, improving the elasticity and firmness of the skin. They are easily accepted into the skin because of their positive charge, and can moisturize the skin, as well as improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily minimizing the depth of wrinkles on skin.

However, some journals say that although Glycosaminoglycans do improve the plumpness of skin and temporarily improve wrinkles when injected, topical agents do not have the same results.

Safety Measures/Side Effects:

Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans are considered a safe ingredient in beauty products and no warnings were found regarding its use.

boy that was fast. Thanks for looking it up for me. I can definitely see how the lash curler could pull them out.
