I've been using the original StimLight for over a year and just got the AALS before the Holidays. I'm using them together, one held in each hand and then switching them about half way through. I vary the products I put on my skin before I use them. I think Kassy is a proponent of varying skin care products.

Bren, I couldn't have said it better myself.. Good advice there Mountaingirl!

My rule of thumb for what I use pre treatment, is to keep it simple and non-occlusive.. I use watered down oils, + a serum made with vitamins. I always apply it 1 hour before my treatment. I think a few members mentioned using "Let's Make Collagen" with the LED, but I don't know what the ingredients are, so I can't offer an opinion.. For myself, I just try to keep preservatives, silicones and any type of petrolatum out of it.. I'm on the fence with the oils, and whether or not they are truly occlusive, that's why I water them down, and apply 1 hour prior.. Another option is to apply a good vitamin enriched oil/serum, let it penetrate for an hour, and then pat what remains off with a hot, damp cloth.. That way you get the benefits and don't take a chance with it keeping the light from penetrating.

Cat, that's a great system with both lights! Maybe I'll give that a go.

i have finally finally decided and ordered my acne light and anti-aging light stim!!!!!!

im more in need of the acne light (due to mild-moderate acne) instead of AALS (cause im 27 years old), but decided to get both due to the special offer plus its about time i start prevention work to keep wrinkles at bay and improve my skin tone!

Steve was also very helpful and answered my questions very promptly, and we had a few email exchanges just in 1 day!

As I live in Singapore, he offered me free shipping and kindly agreed to express shipping (which comes with tracking) if I get both lights (EDS 10% only applies to single unit), so I figured what the heck, according to economies of scale, each light would be cheaper if I bought 2 instead of 1!

They should arrive in about 5 days, so I'm just eagerly waiting to pounce on them and start stimming! I had taken photos already (and posted them in this thread), so all I need to do is wait! 5 days.. so near yet so far..

I also would like to thank all the members who have contributed in the various threads so that I can make a more informed choice on the lights!

And especially I want to thank Kassy, Bethany, Boski (not bout lights, but she's been great too), Lowbrowscientist who answered many many of my questions so patiently! you people! Dancing

Just a little update about my use of Kandis' ULLE and LE with the AALS...

Been doing this for about 6 days now and I have to say I really like the way my skin has been looking with using these together. What I've been doing is applying a thin layer of ULLE over my face and neck and letting that soak for about 10 minutes, then I apply the LE over top and let that soak in for about 45 to an hour then using my Stim. I can't really put my finger on it as it's a bit early for anything to start brewing, but I just like the way I have been looking the last couple of days, tonight especially and I Stimmed about 3 or 4 hours ago....I am going to stick with this as a pre-treatment for a while and see what develops!

bren, are you saying you use the ULLE and the LE from L2K on your entire face and not just the lip lines?

Yes Riley....exactly....I still do the L2K lip line treatment routine, but I do a whole face application of both before my Stim.

Very interesting, bren. I will be keeping my eye on this thread to see your progress with that. I remember on the L2K thread there was a beautiful girl who had remarkable progress using the LE on her whole face (progress in her overall skin tone), so I am really curious to see what your results will be!

I am on my second week of using my AALS. Oh my...It is soooo time consuming! I spend at least an hour and a half doing my face, neck and decollete. I look forward to getting to the every other day stage! I have a question. I am fanatical about not getting sun on my face, but this wkend after 6 days of AALS use I noticed I have a some new "spots" and bumpiness under my eye (in the upper cheek area) that was never there before. The spots looks like freckling (or hyperpigmentation.) Has anyone had this experience when using AALS?

Hi moutaingirl... Once you get the hang of it, you can probably cut that time down to 45 minutes to 1 hour, treating all areas for 3 minutes.. (If you look in a mirror while the light is on, you will see the area being covered, which is quite large.) For instance; I do a lot of overlapping, and cover 18 spots for 3 minutes per, which comes out to just under an hour. That included hands, entire chest, neck, and entire fact.

I never experienced any 'spots' or 'bumps', so I'm not sure what could be causing that.. Are you using anything topically pre treatment? I see in your signature line you use Tozorac, could that be bringing hidden damage to the surface?

My experience has actually given me the opposite effect, and what was once a very sallow, blotchy skin, has evened out and lightened up, to a pale pinkish skintone.

Hopefully others will weigh in if they had a similar experience to you.

The most sensitive skin is all around the eye area, so just cut your treatment time to 90 seconds there.. Also, keeping the top of the light, just at the cheekbone there, will still benefit the undereye tissue anyway..

Are you applying lotions or anything prior to your treatment, and if so what?

This could be a slight burn. I got the same thing on the outer area of my eyes from too much heat from the AALS in that area. Thin skin and overlapping allowed it to get too hot and so I had marks. When I kept the heat under control by either not overlapping (and therefore overdoing) the area, or shortening the time in that area, the discoloration stopped.

When I first started the AALS I was alarmed to see slight freckling coming out on my face, and I tend to avoid the sun, I've worn sunscreens for years. They disappeared quite quickly though.

I'm sure I read on here somewhere that it's slight sun damage coming to the surface, though I could be wrong.

I quite enjoy the time it takes to do it, I find the LED very soothing and pleasant. My ears and hands get the LED too!

Thanks for the feedback--I think the freckling and raised area's may just be from over exposure around that thin skinned eye area and I will totally cut back and even avoid it for a while. I didn't realize that you shouldn't do that area. I know I am doing more "sites" than they recommend/demonstrate on the instruction sheet, cause I don't want to miss any part of my face!

Kassy...forgot to answer the question about what I am applying prior to AALS. I am really at a loss about that. The only thing I've used is my DIY Vit C serum with Ferulic Acid and vit E....but mostly I've not used anything. I'm VERY open to suggestions. I have a $50 gift cert from EDS I could use to get something. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Wink

Hi mountaingirl, Don't forget, if you use the C serum before your treatment, apply it at least 1 hour before.. You should not use the light until it has completely absorbed into the dermis.

This would be a nice serum to use prior to LED treatments, based on the ingredients they are showing.. You only need one drop for the entire face. Use the least amount of product possible to thinly coat the skin for use with the LED;

Hey, surprise! Or am I the only one who forgot the part about combining LS with facial exercises? I got a facial flex gadget from QVC because I need gadgets and machines to keep me interested.

Are the rest of you following the instructions that came with your LightStims?

Update on my progress with the anti-aging light stim. I'm still seeing continued progress on my lower abdominal area, arms and bra bulge in conjunction with cp super serum. I'm using the light stim by itself on my face, and its helping my eczema and although there is no change in pigmentation (I have some freckles from the inflammation of the eczema and previous acne problem) my skin which was always pretty good for a 45 year is starting to firm up some. I'm going to wait 2 more months so it becomes more pronounced and then I'll post picts. I wish I took initial pictures of the lower ab and arms, but when I got my light stim I only thought about my face. Thanks for your help Kassy and nice hearing about your progress Bren

KASSY_A - Could you please compare Cellular Skin Rx to Cellbone's Hyperpeptides - Advance Line Defence and give me your opinion as to which product would be the more effective in reducing sagging and wrinkles for over 55? Do you think Cellbone's could also be used with the AALS? Thanks

The Cellbone product looks really nice, with great actives and I don't see anything that would prevent the light from penetrating.. Just be aware it has a little 'menthol' in it, which could be an irritant if you have sensitive skin..

Be sure to allow it 45 minutes to an hour to absorb before using the LED .. (That is a good practice for anybody using topicals before an LED treatment.) You want the actives to be deep into the dermis for the best results!

Here's the link for Cellbones Anti-Wrinkle Peptides;

http://cellbone.com/Hyperpeptides.htm

Which Cellular Skin RX product are you comparing? The only 'peptdide' product I saw was an eye cream.. Point me to it .. Very Happy

Sorry this reply took so long stovetop, I was away for the weekend..
