Welcome Vividsenses!
There are specialised LEDs for Rosacea and Acne but I'm sure the Anti Aging Lightstim would serve you just as well. You should still receive some benefit from the light killing bacteria and calming down redness - plus there is a return policy if you're not happy with it.
With regard to topicals for your condition - I suggest you look into Finacea Gel which is recommended for both Rosacea and Acne and/or Retin-A. Retin-A is wonderful for refining the size of pores. |

Thank you Keliu
I am swaying from Acne to Rosacea to Anti-Aging.
It took me such a long time to calm my skin and it's at its best ever. But of cos, there are still room for lots more improvement. I'm getting married in August and would not want to make the skin bad by using the wrong thing but I'm still so keen to try, thinking of the possibilities of having better skin for my wedding.
Has anyone with sensitive skin and the occasional pimples experienced improvements with AALS? |

Hi Vividsenses.
I have pretty much the same skin concerns as you do (minus acne), I am 32.
I have purchased the Anti Ageing Light and I have had good results with it. It is not too hot for my sensitive skin, sometimes the skin looks a little bit pink after i use the AALS, but it goes away in about half an hour.
I have not had any pimples/acne since I have been using it (I was getting the odd pimple now and there before).
I think the AALS would be agood long term investment for you, IMHO. |

Thank you happycat01
I am certainly relieved to learn that you have good results with AALS even though you have sensitive skin.
And knowing that the odd pimple has disappeared is even better. Do you apply anything on the face when doing the light treatment?
Thank you. |

No, I'm not interested at all in the one with the 'patches'... That's way to much to attempt on my own.. This is the one I'm talking about.

You might also be surprised to learn that true microcurrent doesn't cause the muscles to contract.. In certain spots around the eyes and mouth it can cause a little twitch, but nothing close to what the Tua viso does.. Also, unless it has the two probes to work with, you really can't do the face lift techniques I've seen. I'm also learning that less is best with microcurrent, and it takes very little electical stimuli to do the job..
It seems that silly little Face Master fits the bill... Who'd a thunk it? (Have a peek at the reviews at the HSN site.) |
The Face Master looks to be a scaled down version of my "prof" machine. I find my arms get tired holding the probes in position (poor little me!). I would think that the TV would still be the same principal - a positive and negative poll - it's just that they are fixed, no probes - which IMO makes it easier to place on the face. Anyway, I'll be interested to hear if you get any results from the Face Master. |

I have both the Facemaster and Tua Viso and see advantages to both. Facemaster provides the ability to use the feathering technique to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes, forehead, nose to mouth etc. Also the procedure for the forehead and mouth area are to stretch the muscle out and made it lay down which is a similar concept that Lou discusses in her book for some muscles needing to lay flat. I personally prefer the Tua Viso for lower face and neck it is much stronger....but of course if one is not over 40 they may not need as much power to create the lift.
I realized after posting this that we are getting into a topic that is different from the thread...if someone want to move this feel free to do so. I am at work and can't search the correct thread.

vividsenses; welcome to LED world I *kinda* agree with the advice you've been given, with one exception; I think the Rosacea light is best for you.. It's the only light that doesn't get hotter than room temperature, and is especially designed to not cause a flare up of Rosacea, or irritate an already sensitive skin..
It has red/blue/infrared diodes.. For you I believe it's the perfect choice, because it will address; rosacea, acne, redness, anti-aging (on a slower scale) + also reduce any inflammation..
Take a look at this thread on the Rosacea LightStim for lots of wonderful input and information;
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=32096&highlight=rosacea+lightstim
Toby; Howdy! I promise their are no thread police here that will yell at you... We often have a bit of a foray into other gadgets we like to use.. But as you can see, it quickly gets back to the main event on it's own..
My plan for the FM is to use it with techniques from the skinforlife site I posted earlier... It makes perfect sense once you've seen/read it in detail... |

Hi Vividsenses.
I do not apply anything on my face before using the lightstim. Sometimes just after treating the face area, if the skin feels a little bit dry, I apply some moisturizer.
I have only recommended this type of device to you because I thought that our skin concerns were pretty similar. Also, I have emailed Steve (the guy at the official lightstim website) and he also recommended this type of device for me.
I have sensitive/oily skin with acne rosacea and i also used to get some pimples occasionally.
Since using the AALS my skin redness has been reduced dramatically and I have not had any more breakouts.
The light does get warm, but for me it is still pleasant to use and does not make my skin worse. As the light only gets warm after about 10-15 mins, you can, for example to start treating the areas of the face which are most sensitive first, such as cheeks, and then forehead, neck, etc.
It is not guaranteed that everybody will have the same results with the AALS, but I hope whichever device you decide to purchase you will see an improvement in your skin. |

Hi,
I'm still very pleased with the AALS. I'm about to hit the 3 month mark and my skin continues to improve. Aside from a glow or a luminosity and smoothness, I am seeing toning. I'm noting this in the lower cheek/jaw area & I am seeing some in the eye area too. (I get used to the good changes so quickly. It's hard to keep track. I know that's why we take photos. But my first one was taken on a day I was exhausted and I'm afraid to look at it.)
With pigmentation/age spots, I first saw a darkening and then a lightening.
I also find the AALS is great for sinus congestion. It just happens in the normal treatment routine although I do place the device
w/ the idea of hitting the sinuses as well.
It is slowly fading a broken blood vessel that used to come and go but has been a permanent resident for quite a few years now.
So basically, the same changes I saw initially just increasing.
A good little tool. I love it! |

With the only exception being a 'darkening' of spots before the 'lightening' kicked in, I'd say your results are much like my experience.. I actually have noticed the same course of events in most of the shared LightStim experiences in this thread..
I'm so glad it's working out so well for you guys.. It really is well worth the time and money spent in my opinion also. |

It's been a while since I've posted so here's an update on my AALS results thus far:
Been using it daily for 5 weeks now. I use it on my face, hands, neck and decollete. My hands are looking better and my skin tone has greatly improved. I still have wrinkles on my decollete but they are getting better.
My pores don't look smaller no matter what I do.
To top all this off after using the LS I've been applying Tazorac and YBF Correct eye cream. Two nights ago I switched to Nia24 Intensive Recovery Cream however.
I use NuFace sporadically...
My skin looks better than it has ever looked in my entire life, but it still isn't where I'd like it to be. I'm wondering if it's even possible to have that flawless, peaches and cream complexion. I think I may have done too much damage over the years. |

So all the stories I read about the LED light causing hyperpigmentation just mean that they didn't use it long enough? There's an ugly period before things get better?
Kassy, I saw you have red and green light in your signature line. Does Lightstim sell green light now? |

I never had a worse before it gets better stage.. My skin just got better and better with continued use.. My skin also got paler over time, and is perfectly even toned.. The only place I had visible sun damage was my neck and chest, and that just got lighter and smoother with each LED treatment..
The 'red' and 'green' in my signature line, refers to red hair + green eyes.. |

Oh lol I'm very very close to try AALS. When I get my tax refund, I most likely will buy it. I find that their 60 day satisfaction guarantee to be reassuring that they are reputable and will stand behind their products.
Has anyone ever returned and got no problem? |

Can Retin-A be used as a pre-treatment with the AALS? Is Retin-A occulsive? Thanks |

stovetop, I'm no expert but I do specifically remember reading that retin a will absorb the light thus inhibiting penetration which will definitely lessen results.
You can use it after the treatment though (if you can tolerate it). I did it with the Tazorac--which is the same kind of principle. |

No, you can't use it 'pre' treatment because any 'light' will degrade Retin-A..
You can safely use Retin-A at night 'after' your LED treatment.. (It's best to be in the dark so to speak, once you've applied your retinol product.) |

Unless something has changed recently, LightStim has a 90 day return policy no questions asked..
I know of 1 member for sure who returned her product, and had no problem at all.
My personal opinion is that it's a no brainer to purchase this product with this kind of guarantee, because it's plenty of time to know what kind of response you will get from these treatments.. This was the main reason I started out with LS.. For me it worked so well, that returning wasn't even considered, but it was nice to know I could and move on if necessary. |
