I have a very simple question: What is your favorite Concealer? I am looking for a good concealer. |

I've been on the hunt for a good concealer these last few months...I tested the following:
-Benefit boing: Only a few colours to choose from, all of which were too pink or yellow
-Carco One Base: basically a full coverage foundation. Couldn't find a great colour match, but my sis loves this stuff.
-Erase Paste: the consistency is weird!! Its almost rubbery...but there are only a few colours, all of which were too pink for me.
The ones I actually bought and took home:
-Amazing Cosmetics: good coverage, but I wasn't able to get a good colour match, so it looked like i was wearing make-up (ie. cakey)
-EDM: this is the mmu concealer...I found a good colour match, the coverage was okay in the morning, but it had no staying power what so ever
-Make Up Forever Full Coverage: this was like a really thick foundation...it provided great coverage as well, and was great for filling in my pores, but it was just too heavy feeling for my oily skin. It also looked like I was wearing makeup if that makes sense...
-NARS: I found a great colour match with 'Custard'...I'm not the biggest fan of the lipstick tube style, but I like the consistency better. Because its harder, it sticks to my problem areas better, the liquid concealers were like thick foundations, which tended to melt on my face by midday. Its also great at covering my blemishes, and since it has the best colour match, it doesn't look as make-up-ey when i layer it on.
I've tried others too...but these have been the most recent...
While I really like the NARS, I just bought 2 MAC concealers today, the one that comes in a pencil form to carry in my purse, and the liquid (select cover I think it was called) so we'll see how that goes... |

Best concealer for under eyes & lines: YSL Touch Eclat (Radiant pen)..
For pimples and marks I love Maybelline not sure of the name but it's the one like a lipstick.
This really is the best one. I've tried mac, estee lauder, clinique, nars... you name it- I've tried it.
I always go back to the maybelline. It provides great coverage and its a great texture & doesn't look 'cake-y' |

The MAC select cover up is my favorite concealer. I'm not using it now though because it doesn't look good over my sunscreen mix. So I put some tint into my sunscreen mix for my face, and a heavier tint into my sunscreen mix for the eye area. |

I really like Vincent Longo's concealor and have been using it for about a year. I switched to Jane Iredale's peach Circle Delete for a while, but in the end I found I like Longo's better so I switched back. |

I like using MMU foundation as concealers. I use a full coverage foundation and apply some to spots where needed. Currently I am using Jenulence. I have samples of Blusche full coverage and I think this is even better at concealing and plan to order a full size jar.
I found EDM did not last the day and does not make
a good concealer.
I have Silk Naturals concealer called Sleep in a Jar. This is a yellowish concealer that is sheer for those inner blueish circles.
I also like Boots concealer that is a pen like one with a brush. It is an illuminating concealer; the same idea as YSL but less $$. |

There are quite a few concealer threads here at EDS.
Two concealers that came up frequently are Lauren Hutton's which you can get in the Face Disk or separately (www.laurenhutton.com orwww.hsn.com)
And not a concealer (it's a foundation brush), but raved about when used as a concealer, Light Expert By Terry - hard to find in the U.S. except at Barney's but now Sephora carries online (not at my local store). |

my favs: Prescriptives creamy concealer (with spf 25!) and Laura Mercier secret camouflage (this one is drier if your skin is oily). |

I purchased Laura Mercier secret concealer and Bobbi Brown Concealer kit, however, both of them seems not work on me.
I want to cover the black circle under my eyes. The coverage is poor, even worse, they make my fine lines under eyes more apparent. |

I use DermaBlend and have for years. I don't have an issue with undereye circles but I do have redness that drives me crazy. DermaBlend gives me flawless skin. I know some people complain that it's heavy, but I just apply it lightly with my fingertips or with a makeup sponge. One huge bonus it that it contains a SPF 30. It's never broken me out (even though it contains mineral oil)and a jar lasts FOREVER! |

I tried so many concealers before for my damn circles and u have no idea how frustrating it is. They either crease or settle into my fine lines. Right now I'm using Lancome Effacer and it doesn't crease. It lasted most of the day! It doesn't totally cover my dark circles but nothing does anyways. I'm happy that it doesn't crease so I'm sticking with it! |

That's depend on what is the purpose of the concealer. If you use it for eye dark circle, I recommand Bobbi Brown; while for acne, I prefer to use Dior, coz it has whitening effect which can reduce the mark of acne. |

Why everything is not working on me.
I have purchased the concealers from Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown, two products recommended by many customers.
I want to use them to cover my under-eye black circle, however, both of them show poor coverage and make my fine line more appearant at the same time.
I give them up. But I am really want to find a good concealer. I think I will get a list of the "good" concealers first, and then try them one by one in the store. |

Maybe go back to where you purchased the products if they have good customer service and have them demo on you how to use the concealer. See if it makes a difference.
I know on another concealer thread someone posted a link to a Bobbi Brown demo on how to apply concealer properly. |

I have got the same problem before (the lines are more visible after applying concealer), but my friend taught me that I can mix eye cream/gel with the concealer, then apply the mixture on the undereye. My eyes become more hydrated and lines are not visible. |

When I was using liquid foundation I always used Cle de peau beaute under my eyes and dermablend if I had any blemishes that needed coverage. Both products are outstanding.
Currently I am using MMU and do not like to mix the cream concealers with the power MU so I just use a light dusting of MMU under my eyes. |

I talked to three professional make-up artists in the last month at three different stores not even selling the line, and every one of them said they prefer Alison Raffaele's concealer, hands down. (I kept asking them what was in their make-up bags! )
