when you buy a moisturizer? I've heard some people say that a moisturizer is the best anti-ager for face and body. Why is this? I just can't make myself believe it enough to use everyday... I use retin a and peels, sunscreen, I take lots of supplements and exercise and I do moisturize sometimes, esp. before a night out to keep away flakes. Can someone convince me to use it everyday? |

Experts say it really does nothing, there is no need to moisturize, but it sure does feel better with it than without it, doesn't it?
Anyone else agree? |

In the winter it feels better because my skin gets unusually dry. But generally, I'm very oily and I don't like the way moisturizer feels on my face at all. I'd much rather be bare/naked faced. |

I don't think a moisturizer is necessary so long as your skin doesn't feel tight. I look for the following in moisturizers: vitamin C, antioxidants, ceramides, and peptides. |

A moisturizer is not an anti-aging item IMO. I only use it when it I need it. So if my skin is not feeling dry, I don't use it. |

After reading about how moisturizers overwet the skin barrier and actually cause water to evaporate from the skin (requiring you to KEEP using moisturizer), I ended up switching to emu oil and squalane (from olives).
Be sure to scroll down the page quite a bit...there is a big section of white space before the articles begin.

Hmmm...
When dermatologists are interviewed in newspapers and magazines, they keep saying that a good moisturizer is essential to keep a good skin health and prevent lines from forming.
I believe emu oil is a good moisturizer. It contains essential fatty acids that's beneficial for the skin. The disadvantage is a tendency to balling up when applied on top of a serum. |

The only serum that balls up on me is HA - I have no problem using other serums with emu oil. Since I've been using emu oil as a moisturiser on my face, I also apply to hands and nails. My nails have gone from being translucent, soft, flaky and constantly breaking to being opaque, hard and strong. So I'm hoping the emu oil is also strengthening and building up my skin - I certainly don't get breakouts anymore. |

It's weird we can react so differently to the same products. I have to mix emu oil with HA to get it absorb at all. Pure emu oil is leaving a greasy layer on my face. |

I want to add that HA serum didn't look good on me either. It didn't ball up exactly, but it just didn't look good. It's in the fridge for now, I'll try using it again in the winter. I'll probably just use this product at night. |
